It is with great pleasure that I announce the official TaylorStock video!
Taylor is sending each group of attendees a complimentary 2hr video of highlights of the event. This video was professional filmed and produced by Larry Clark. (If you've seen the wonderful Liberty Tree video, you've seen his work.) This video includes many highlights from the 2-day event, including Q&A with Bob and the entire Open Mic performance. Other clips will include the tours, the wood selection, shots of the wood, and even lunch. :)
The VHS tape should be ready for shipment by Friday, September 20th.
TaylorStock attendees only: Please e-mail me your shipping address with TaylorStock Video as the subject line. Send to: webmaster@taylorforum.com
(Others who are interested in this tape - there may be a few copies left over, but please don't e-mail me about them at this time. I'll follow with further information.)
Huge thanks to Taylor Guitars for this most generous gift - a memoir of the event. Once again, Taylor proves that they are a first-class company all the way... unrivaled in their industry. THANK YOU!
Also... I plan on making a DVD of this video available separately at a later date, for those who are interested. Stay tuned...

All I can say is WOW! Just when I think Taylor couldn't possibly have made TaylorStock any better, they come up with a great new surprise! This is incredible, and I'm floored by their generosity. My thanks to Larry, Bob, J.R., and everyone else who made it all possible.

Amazing stuff...Taylor continues to impress me, and thats becoming increasingly difficult to do!
For what its worth, JR, I would be interested in a DVD eventually.

HOLY SMOKES!! Is Bob going to personally deliver each copy? It's the ONLY thing I can think of that would be better than what they've already done.
To the folks at Taylor.
THANK YOU (Yet again).
What a great company.

"........just when I think I'm out.....THEY PULL ME BACK IN!!!"
Boy, doesn't Taylor already know that we're devoted to them already? We already represent the top 5% of their most loyal customers! We're practically already customers for life! Why are they doing this? :)
Well, they did sell 51 guitars all in one shot. I'm sure that helps.
Thanks again to everyone at Taylor Guitars: Bob, Ed(I miss buggin' ya every week!:) ), Kurt, TJ, Jon, Larry, and everyone else there. You guys make such a large company feel like a private luthier shop with all you do for us.
Thanks!!!!

That's only 1/5th of what they normally build in a day. Don't kid yourself. They just love us. :D

This is incredible,
All I can say is, no other company has ever done as much for me as Taylor guitars.
I own several very high end guitars, and have dealt with the companies that made them many times. I have never had any of these companies go out of their way to please me even though I was purchasing a custom guitar that cost several thousand dollars. In fact most acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me what I want, even though the up charges were incredible.
The people at Taylor treated us like Family, and made every effort to make sure we got exactly what is was we wanted. Even when we didn't know our self. The people that spent the time to help us compare and select woods and such, did it all on their day off.
This video is one more reason I will never forget Bob Taylor and crew, and the generousity and kindness they showed all of us at Taylorstock.
Thanks again to everyone at Taylor.

I also would love to have a DVD...but wouldn't it just be easier to make a VCD from the VHS video once we get ours? I doubt the picture quality will improve that much with a DVD and we could easily duplicate VCDs for all the Taylorstock Attendees. I have a friend who bought a machine specifically to be able to make VCDs from VHS videos and he's helped me do some stuff before.
I'm planning on transferring mine to VCD - any thoughts JR?

The next best thing to TaylorStock is the video ... is it possible to send me a copy too? I'll pay for the tape & shipping.

Not to burst any bubbles, but I don't think it's proper to expect or even ask Taylor to duplicate more than they planned, as this is a gift from Taylor. Nor do I think it's honorable to send bootlegged copies of the video to people without written permission from Taylor as that is illegal unless Taylor doesn't copyright the video. I would suggest that people get together with people in the area in which they live and watch it together or pass it around. I think we all need to accept this gift graciously as it is ... and I'm not saying this just because I'm getting one ... if I hadn't been able to attend, I would be trying to plan a movie day.

There will be very few VHS copies left over. But fortunately I have permission from Taylor to make the DVD available through the forum to those who are interested. So, pretty much anyone who wants to see it will be able to get their own copy of the DVD.
....But don't hold your breath. I'm authoring this myself. :) Might take awhile.

Put me down as wanting a DVD, if VHS will not be available. Use the same paypal info as with the TGF CD I purchased, if you still have it:) .

Ahhhh... My friend, you assume too much! I'm authoring the DVD from all-digital footage taken from the DVCAM master. The DVD WILL have much better picture quality.

Ahh....silly me I thought those cheapos at Taylor would only use analog equipment (joke - you KNOW I don't think this!! (before someone jumps on me for being ungrateful or something ;) )).
That's awesome JR - can't wait to see the DVD!!

Now that's really cool. I didn't think Taylor would release raw video like that. I'm sure everyone will be waiting on pins and needles for that release ... though maybe not as impatiently as waiting for guitars ... :)

Say, aren't these videos supposed to ship out this Friday?
J.R., just a quick question about that: Does Taylor have mailing information for everyone who attended? I don't recall giving that to anyone...

Just watched the LTG DVD and if that is any indication of the quality of Larry Clark's work (and I believe it is), we will be in for a treat!
J.R.
Put me down for a DVD also. You did get my address for the VHS, didn't you?
