Talked with Ed today... everything is on schedule! He estimates that all the guitars should be finished by October 18th. (...but don't hold them to that. You never know what could happen.) YEAH! This is REALLY good news! Unfortunately, I also learned that since a lot of the Cocobolo was in such a raw state, they have to work on the wood a bit. Those guitars wont be among the first batch. The first batch mostly includes guitars that are being built out of sets of wood that were already prepared for production - like the Ovangkol sets, the maple sets, and the flamed mahogany sets - (MINE! yeeee haaaaw!)

BTW: Please do not call Taylor and ask them when your guitar is scheduled to be built. Rest assured that every one of them will be finished or at least started over the next 5-6 weeks.

No promises, but I might be getting some pictures of the TaylorStock guitars in progress. :D

J.R., that is very, very cool! I won't count on any pictures, but that would be cooler still if it's possible. Thanks for the update!

Ok...so.....does this mean that I can now volunteer to go back to El Cajon to shoot this?

Actually, I'd love to but the airfare is just prohibitive and I doubt I could talk Jeff or anyone into a road trip that far. :)

Thanks for the update J.R. !!

Rick,

If I weren't so danged busy at work, I'd be down for that roadtrip.....I think I might have left something there in the factory (not really, but it's a fine excuse to go back) ...oh yeah...my new 912C...that's what's there.....I'd just like to watch and learn your photography chops....

That's good news. I was thinking I'd probably see mine in October some time. My son (Anj) ordered a 310 maple, so it would appear that his will be one of the first.

I'm liking Uncle Ed...he seems like an alright guy.

You know that is really pretty amazing! The cocobolo for my 810 was pretty raw . That and the Gothic Vine inlay may push that one back a bit. The 654 maple was ready to go and I'm only adding Cindy to that one, so maybe I'll even get it by my birthday in early October! I really didn't expect to see either one of them until December.

In another way, it is good for me as I prefer getting the two guitars separately so each one has its own "moment.":)

I'm gonna BUMP this thread to remind myself (and y'all) that Uncle Ed said the schedule was to be done by Oct 18th (not holding them to it, but that's their plan).

How cool would THAT be!!??!!:)

J.R. also mentions a "first batch" which implies a second or third batch, which means to me (I may be wrong, it happens a lot) that rather than shipping individual guitars as they are completed they will ship out a group of some unknown quantity, let's say 2 batchces at roughly 25 guitars each.

I AM BEING PATIENT!!! REALLYYYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyy~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!:)
