Bill Kanengiser of the LA guitar quartet, tonight 730 at the UWM campus recital hall. Will be a really great show. Tickets are something around 10 dollars. On another note, much earlier notice, we're having Michael Gulezian come play, he hinted he'd be bringing Willy Porter with him too. Concert is sometime in march. Message me for details

My daughter introduced me to a friend of hers tonight from Milwaukee. He had a very strange and difficult life there. It is odd , but true, that out here in California, we do not often hear much about Milwaukee, nor know much about it either.

(This was just an aside; did not mean to hijack this thread.) ;)

That's unfortunate. I love it here.

I grew up 20 miles west of Milwaukee, and spent a lot of time hanging out there. Granted this was over 25 years ago. and cities change, but my recollection is that the town was an interesting combination of bohemian and old-world sensibilities. A strong Lutheran "family values" mentality, but also very progressive and open-minded in many ways.

I've always said that it's a great town - just 900 miles too far cold.
