The Orlando Guitar Show is this weekend over at the Osceola Heritage Park, same venue as last year.
Any Central Florida AGF'rs headed that way ?
I'll be there both days, and have a couple of friends with displays set up this year. Hope to see some of you there.

Cool David.
Stop at either the Big Orange Guitar booth or the Cornerstone Music booth
and they will be able to get us hooked up.
Look forward to meeting you.

I'll be happy to Allen.
Looking forward to seeing what new stuff they bring along this trip.
I was thinking of calling and seeing if they still had that really cool Mando
for sale ?
Wish you could come but I do understand.

Ricks- Are there any booths set up by luthiers/acoustic repair techs? I'm in need of a few repairs to my Baby Taylor & Sigma. Is it worth schlepping my axes with me to O?

Sharky,
I don't know about getting any "work" done while at the show.
I think I would pass on bringing along tech work. You might be able to
make contact with someone there, but in the past I don't recall much of any actual work going on at the show.
So leave the wood and have fun instead.

For those that missed it, a pretty good show with some nice stuff around.
Saw Sharky and Beach Bob harrassing all the vendors. Dulope was there with one for sale and Florida David made the rounds a couple of times.
TBondo and Dickend Dad too.
So the Central Fla chapter of the AGF was dutifully represented.

I would have liked to have made it down, but I went to Wartrace Tn to pick up my Gallagher guitar after I had them do a couple of things to it. I had a friend there from Jacksonville that called me today on his way home, and he had bought two guitars there. First, he picked up a new Ken Miller 14 fret 00 guitar, and he also picked up a 1946 D28. That will probably be the last time his better half lets him leave the house alone.:D

Dulope was there with one for sale <snip>
That was one of the nicest ones I tried out that day... I think it was a SCGC H13, a 13 fretter logically enough... very cool w/ a pretty sunburst, herringbone, slot head, and deep body. Very nice sounding, based on 30 seconds of picking in a concrete room with 100s of people yakking & playing guitars thru amps at occasionally greater than moderate levels
I was sort of focusing on old Gibson acoustics at this event... in between gawking at wild new designs, old beat up pieces, and the occasional 100% strat or tele with stratospheric prices to go with em. But that's the market anymore I guess... nice to look at a piece of history, at least.
The other one I liked was in Ken Miller's booth, a '50 Gibson SJ... not a world beater, but it had a real nice tone & structually no issues, looked very well maintained; a real player. Ken and Virginia make some really pretty guitars; I was very impressed. Right across from Ken's a guy had a bunch of nice acoustics... I tried a ?? '56 Martin D-21 that was a winner. Sadly it was more than $0.46, so I had to pass on that one too. Nobody said this was a cheap sport ....
Very nice to see everyone again, & to meet a couple new faces (dulope and FLDavid)! Sharky & I had a real nice day...

Ditto what Beach Bob said. A good time was had by all. BB- Thx for the carpool ride and it was good to banter R&R for a few hours. Just wished I had enough dough for that McPherson Cornerstone was sellin'

Allen, I think I might have seen your friend with Ken. There was one guy who was just planted there with one of there deep body smaller boxes.
I tried out the mandos and the acoustic steel he made. Might just have to give that a try some day.
Sharky, you need to call Pedro at Cornerstone.
he'll work with ya for sure.

Rick - Ken's making some nice instruments. I won't step on Allen's toes if I can help it, since he knows Ken far better and has played more of his guitars, but what I've played I've liked. Don't know if you've ever played the one Allen has - next time we're hanging out at a shindig, remind him.
Ken's classical guitars are quite nice too. He's starting to do armrest bevels on his models, which I really like, and some of the inlay his wife Virginia does is pretty as can be. Not stuff you typically see on many guitars, and very tasteful.
Wish we could have made it down there. We took a trip instead to TN to pick up a geetar. Hope your friends down there did well.

Everyone here is doing as good as can be expected. You understand.
I would have enjoyed the trip to Wartrace myself. Although I might have had to run away to leave. Last time I was talking to the Gallagers the Mrs.
did her best to try and get me to retire early so I could move there and run their water system for them. Seems the town lost it's licensed water operator and they couldn't find a replacement. I'm looking at geetars at NAMM and she's trying to put me to work.
Somehow that just didn't seem right to me.
Nice guitars and even nicer people.
