I'm in Northern VA just outside of DC. I want someone to play with. I live below Old Town along the GW parkway and am looking for someone to hang with 1 or 2 nights a week to play and maybe learn from eachother.

I've had a guitar for about 30 years but have actually played only for a few of those.

What can it hurt?

GeoDV - I know it's a bit of a drive for you (I used to live in Alexandria), but in Leesburg there are at least 2 "open mikes" a week in the local bars. Everything from rank beginners to absolute pros. I've met people at both and found a guy who lives just a mile from me (who is coincidentally doing a gig at Bolling AFB Wednesday night Jan 24th).

Wednesday 8-11 - Bar on Main STreet across from the Courthouse.
Thursday 8-11 - Shenanigans on Route 7 just east of old town Leesburg.

There is also Dixieland Jazz on Tuesday nights at Kings Court on Loudoun and Main Streets.

I'm certain there are more area open mike or local jam sessions, but these are the ones in Leesburg.
