Chicago Sandy

First, if anyone came out to the Borders in Crystal Lake tonight, I want to apologize for my not being there with Susan and Kate--my flight didn't get back from NY last night till well after midnight, and I awoke with a fever, sinus pain and scratchy throat. In light of everything I've been through with my elderly in-laws this week (and my reluctance to try walking on glazed sidewalks with a slowly healing broken toe), I decided to stay home and preserve my voice for the real show (for which we get paid) on Sunday:
The SASS! Trio (Susan Urban, aka SageWoman on the AGF, Kate Early and I) with a special guest spot by Natural Bob & Micky Holdsworth (who have a new CD just out and play a spiffy custom-made Kingslight acoustic bass) open for renowned traditionalists Cooper, Nelson, & Early this Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 pm at McHenry County College on US 14 in Crystal Lake, IL. According to the Daily Herald, admission is free (thanks to a grant from the College)--and according to us, there will be no tip jars and thus no pressure. Susan, Kate, & I will each take the lead on one of our favorite songs from our repertoires, and will close with a special 1960s rock blast-from-the-past with the Holdsworths rounding out the band on bass and lead guitar. (There will also be free cookies and punch afterwards to fortify you for the drive home). I'll be playing guitar and dulcimer.
