So, is it? The last gathering was in April at Lake Houston hosted by The Guitarman. Is there any interest in another gathering? Is someone in Dallas willing to host or arrange to have host?

I would do one in San Antonio, but last time we had a very low turn out to good ole SA. Dallas would probably attract more peoples?

So, then, anyone game?

Stick Chris on it, he's done a great job with the Pugsley's events. ;)

he barely pokes his camera lens here anymore although he won the fantasy golf league.

paging the photog ... paging the photog ...

of course i could perhaps sacrifice some time and go see if catholic schoolgirl outfits are still the uniform-of-the-day at pugeleys ...

it concerns me that you put 'girls' in quotation marks ...

Are beginners allowed? If so, I'm in. Been itchin' for another road trip to the Lone Star State. Keep me posted on the date/location. I enjoy meeting members. It would be great to get to chat with some new faces and listen to your talents.

I might consider coming. However, I'm afraid that most of you (except Guy) are not as ugly as me! Oh well, our beauty remains in our artistic capabilities! I'll keep watching to see what develops.

By all means, it is past time to have another TX jam. I'm all over that. And I, for one, would think it great to see /guy in Catholic Schoolgirl uniform -- something most of the sailors in Adak had in their footlockers as I remember.

I don't care where it is -- Dallas, Houston, Luckenbach -- as long as I'm able to walk up to/sit down in/get out of Phuufme's Mini, I'll be there!

and were darn grateful to have, i tell you what ... [g]

no, considering the length-or-lack-thereof of the skirts, i suspect any non-girls would have 'stuck out', if you get my drift ...

/guyI find that women get upset when they are called girls. That is what I meant.

oh ... well, that's much better than the reason i was imagining.

thanks for the clarification!

I just moved to North Texas right above Dallas and I would like a chance to meet other players in the area. Count me in if the schedule allows!

I would rather have a gathering in Dallas and not in San Antonio. Last one in San Antonio, there were lots of players who said they would come and then cancelled at the last minute, sort of leaving me holding the bag for the food, etc.

So, is there anyone in Dallas willing to host, or find a place to host?

Or, maybe we can get Jeffrey (Canyon Lake) to offer his place for hosting and DonBob and I could do the food? Jeffrey?

For what it's worth, I'm tentatively up for any of the places mentioned, after the holidays. We may have an invalid house guest for a while, so that could affect my availability.

I'm one of those who bailed out on the San Antonio gathering, but I was in significant pain, so believe I had a valid reason.

knowing that larry speaks with precision had me wondering about a phrase that seemed to include some loose language.

it took more than several passes for me to parse the phrase 'invalid house guest' before it finally dawned on me that i kept missing the homographic (or heteronymic) meaning.

an 'invalid house guest' in my house is a cockroach! [g]

Sorry about that, golftango. I was being lazy and didn't want to tell any more of the story. Rest assured this is MUCH shorter than the one my wife (Shirley) would tell.

My wife's best friend fell while preparing Thankgiving dinner and experienced multiple fractures of the pelvis and a lacerated bladder. She is still in ICU. It is expected that she will likely be released from the hospital shortly before Christmas, and that she will require 24-hour care for some undetermined period after that. Shirley has invited her to spend (at least part of) that period at our house. So, she will be a house guest and, by some definitions, an invalid, spending much of the time in bed, but somewhat ambulatory.

no need to apologize! i have no explanation for why i read that word as inVALid rather than invalID ... and why the correct word didn't occur to me for several iterations!

Larry, no worries about missing -- I'm sure most of the people who said they would come had legitimate reasons for missing; its just that there were so many of them.

So back to the question at hand ... another TX gathering? Anyone volunteering to host?

I don't mind hosting, but it's pretty remote for a lot of people. I'm afraid we'd end up with a bunch of cancellations again.

Dallas is fine by me, but I think as said previously, after the holidays (ie: Jan1) is probably better.

I can personally vouch for the fact that beginners are allowed. When we did the Frisco jam last October, I was so new I squeaked when I walked. Hope to see you there; it's fun to put names/handles to faces.

JROkay now, we have JR saying he will try to make it (again). So, any Dallas-ites willing to step up and host?

Or, for a feeler poll, who would drive to Canyon Lake to Jeffrey's house?
To start ....

From League City, Canyon Lake is closer than either Dallas or Frisco, so, assuming my bride can spare me for a day or two, I'm in.

Not that I really want to drive to Dallas but...

I did like how Pugsley's had room for us to jam and whatnot. Outside of that guy that showed up and just started playing drums, it was really cool having a jam room.

I don't have anywhere near that kind of space here (wish I did!).

I don't mind a road trip, even to Dallas (shudder :D), but my job situation will be top priority. Heck, I'll even try to bring along a real ;) guitar player.

My job situation is also my top priority, but I can try to find a place over here...or work with someone who might have access to a rehearsal studio, BUT we might have to "pay to play" to cover the cost...
I can also talk to Chris about what y'all are wanting to do!

OK you helpless fools......let me do some checking.

I've not been to Pugsleys much in the last year and they have a new manager. The optimal location would be to do it at The Anderson Guitar Gallery in Frisco. I know I could count on Steve to help.

I also might be able to take some shots and get them published in our magazine...maybe even have a writer do a piece on it.

Let me check on that over the next few days......
