I played two guitars that are gaining a place on the GAS list:

Sandy's Martin D18GE was the best of those I have had the fortune to play, so loose and loud. I could have noodled on it for a years ('course, even at $49.95 a day, the hotel room charges would have added up quickly!)

Tom's Goodall Cocobolo/Port Oxford Cedar CJ..... sigh.... what a gem. In Wade's able hands, it came alive in the hotel lobby Sunday morning. As much as I like my EIR/Sitka CJ, my heart now belongs to this one.

The guitars Allen was playing sounded great! I had never heard a walnut dread before this weekend. The D42 Winfiled guitar is a baby artillery gun. It has wonderful potential.

The Collings slope dread of Ray's was stupendous; and as much of a rascal as he is, the man can play. (I get the idea he only practices so he can pick up chicks!) I really enjoyed his set at the restaurant.

I was really sorry I had to miss the gathering this year. I'd hoped it would be my first one but it just didnt' work out.

That D18GE used to be mine. Glad to hear that it's sounding great. It has a much more worthy home now than it used to. :)

I have played quite a few of those... but that particular one had something special for me. A woman's touch, times two? Yes, perhaps that is it. Thanks, Serenity and Sandy, for teaching it how to sing so very sweetly.

Joel is very much a guy. And he was the one who nurtured that D-18GE and taught it to sing before I got it!!!

There was certainly no shortage of good wood at Monroestock. :)

Ray (Stixx) was kind enough to lend me his Collings SJ for the weekend, and he'll confirm that I've already tried to pry it away from him on a more permanent basis. ;)

I think it would be better use of my time if I got you to
simply show me how to make it sound like it did when
you played it .:D

That's easy... just let me play it again.

Whoops!!!

Ummmm... it's that manly command of the guitar that makes it develop a sound loud enough to be heard when it is singing sweetly.

Sorry.

Oddly enough, with all the great acoustic guitars at Monroestock, what I bought from Marion was an electric guitar.

Ya'll are just lucky I didnt break out my 710ce. Set up with heavy strings, that thing is so loud, the sound goes back in time!

Yeah, I know what you mean , that's why Bubba stayed in
the Hotel. I was afraid I'd break the sound system. LOL :D
