The Klamath River MandoJam will provide an opportunity for acoustic musicians of various levels and styles to come together in a beautiful mountain setting and supportive environment. Dix and Radim will lead workshops throughout each day, and there will be time open for jamming, informal workshops and rest and relaxation. In the past we’ve hosted one instructor for the weekend, we’re very excited to have two instructors this time, which will mean even higher quality workshops. Participants are encouraged to come ready to share what they know about music and technique, learn from each other, swap tunes, and PLAY MUSIC!
Dix Bruce is an extraordinarily talented and multi-faceted instructor, with 35 Mel Bay Instructional book and CD sets under his belt, along with two instructional videos, covering everything from bluegrass and old time music to jazz, blues and swing. Dix is equally comfortable playing guitar and mandolin and has played in every setting from solo to big band. He has been active in the San Francisco music scene since the 1970's when he first teamed up with mandolinist David Grisman to edit the Mandolin World News. He is featured on 6 of his own CD releases. Acoustic Musician magazine describes Dix Bruce as "a West coast virtuoso." Radim Zenkl is an eclectic artist who has mastered a wide range of styles including Bluegrass, Swing, Flamenco, Celtic, Jazz and Eastern European. Radim tours extensively in the US and aboard, and is one of the instructors featured at the renowned annual Mandolin Symposium in Santa Cruz CA.
