I started writing this on Wednesday (8/7/02), and planned to sing as my second selection at the Taylorstock open mic, but we only got to sing one selection, so this is the world premier!!!.....and, I added the last verse in the car on the way home from the airport on Sunday .....it is with significant trepidation that I place this into the public realm...if I had a better voice, I would have used it. This is version 37 or so, and I'm driving my wife crazy trying to find one I'm happy with....this will have to do.

If ya' don't spell it right, it don't work!

(revised for MP3 versus wav ...now 4 MB vs 33)

Nice tune T! Listened to it in my hotel room here in Hong Kong. Luckily, I have a broadband connection - downloading seemed lengthy. Would have never made it on my dial-up at home.

Your voice sounds fine. Thanks a lot for letting us all hear take 37. Keep it up.

Hong Kong.....the first reported listen is from Hong Kong......does that qualify for "world music"?, and is there such a thing? Thanks for the encouragement...seems every time I want to record I can't find an engineer (young adult with the same last name) so I have to do the record/adjust/record bit...some day I figure out how to make things sound better in post-production...for now, WYHIWYG.

Oh, look ....my 500th post!

I feel much better about myself now, then I've felt in a long time.
Thanks

Meaning that you don't suck quite nearly as much as I do? Well, that's one way to give something back, I suppose....set a new low standard....lower every one's boat...that's kinda inverse to the Taylor philosophy, which is to share manufacturing techniques so that everyone can improve the quality of their products...I'm going to have to think about this!

I'm gonna find a sound that works for me....you'll just have to be patient with me.

Well, actually. I sound much worse. If I had a dog I’m sure even he would leave the room. But every now and then I get the feeling of giving up when things are not going right. Then something will happen that just sparks it all back in line and I take another big step forward.
Oh by the way liked the song, it was kind of Harry/Tom Chapin’ish, the guitar needs to be brought up a little.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I left out an explanation before.

Mark,

Sorry for being snappish....I'm very glad (for whatever reason) that you are feeling better about yourself....I was being churlish and I apologize for such....bit defensive, I suppose.

Thanks for the mix input....if I ever got a grip on the software, I could probably do that (bring up the guitar), as vocals and guitar were separate tracks.....so much to learn, so little time.

Thanks, Cynbrad and J.R. for your enjoyment....I'm still maturing the song, but felt it needed to be out there (timing is everything)..OBTW....the guitar you hear is my new PS14...I gotta tell ya, that is the best sounding guitar that I have ever played...even my son Jesse (20 years old and knows everything) was blown away.....

And now, J.R.'s mix (more guitar, some reverb on the voice, how'd he do that?).....I'm gonna record a good version tomorrow, send to J.R., and then well really be cooking!
