It is once again time to have a VA/MD/DC get-together!

VA/MD/DC get-together:

Date: 11 November, 2006
Time: starts at 12:00 noon and will run until around 5:00pm
Location: Steve Z's lil' rowhouse (Washington DC, near Eastern Market Metro and easy access from Baltimore-Washington Parkway and I-395/295)

All levels of players are welcome to attend as there are no egos at these functions, just a mutual admiration of guitars and other stringed instruments. There are several regulars who come to play, but there are also several people who attend merely to meet the folks they have been chatting with on the forum and enjoy each others company. This is also a great opportunity to play many different guitar models, both electric and acoustic.

For those that would like to volunteer to play a short set for our entertainment or perhaps present a little workshop, please mention that in your RSVP reply to this thread so I can build a rough agenda. (Eric, you have some skills we all want to hear!:)) If you are a beginner and want a little time in front of people, this a great opportunity for a friendly open mic. I'll have the Bose PAS set-up.

I'll have some fixin's for to throw on the grill and some beverages for lunch. If folks want to go to dinner afterwards, there are several great restaurants a few blocks from my house.

Please reply to this thread or email me to RSVP.

Steve,

Sounds like fun. Hope to make it. I'm at 70% probability. Need to socialize the idea with my wife - can't just pick up and go like the old days when we didn't have a child. If I'm able to attend, I'll bring my new mandolin. I'll try to let you know for sure closer to the time.

John

John,

It sure would be great if you could make it. We have a crib set-up as we are getting our baby room together (she is due in December :D ) if that helps make your decision any easier.

Hope to see and your family, as well as the mando!

Hi folk:

I'm up the road a piece in Lancaster, PA, and would love to be there. I, unfortunately, am hosting a party at my house that day for my workmates. Please add me to any list that might be generated for future activities. I'm sure that my family would love to spend the day hitting the museums whilst I am hitting the strings. Besides, I want to see Ericsongs' "Creation" guitar someday.

Jim,
Let us know as the date nears as we hope you can make it.

Pat,
There is always next time! We'll try to do a little better in the advance notice department for future events.

Anyone else interested in participating? The get-together is scheduled for next Saturday, 9 Sept.

If this date is not good for most people, please let us know. Perhaps rescheduling to a later date will allow more folks to join in...?

It's not looking good for me. I have worship seminars on the 9th and the 16th that I am just finding out about. So, not only will I miss the get together, my wife is steaming. Well, that is what I get for offering to do weekend seminars on worship, lol.

Looks like everyone has other plans, so perhaps we should reschedule.

Let's cancel the get-together for this Saturday and try to pick a date next in October or early November.

Hi guys, sorry to hear we are having some scheduling problems. I'd love to meet up in the next few months! The only time I know for sure I wouldn't be able to do it is the second weekend in october, I think the 16th -- going back to cleveland for a wedding.

Back again to this thread, with hopes that I can do this time around. October is starting to fill up. I don't think this blows a protocal, but check out the listings of concerts at the Susquehanna Folk Music Society. I am scheduled to open for a pretty good player, Jim Malcolm (from Scotland) on 11/10. Maybe we could do some sort of jam up here around that time?

Fall time is in the air!

lets set something up! Pat, I know you are from out of town, so what date is best for you if we had something?
