I'm just about finished setting up a dedicated FTP server on a T1 for everyone's Taylorstock photo's.
FTP will be far easier than trying to dig everyone's pictures off a web site. You'll be able to just queue them up and let'em run. Download all you want.
Anyone interested in contributing, please email me via my email in my profile.
It should be available tonight. I will post the IP address to it later.
Thanks. :)

I just had to make sure everyone saw this, so I posted a copy of what I put under the General Discussion area.
-------------------------------------------------------------
And we should make sure that the file names of the photos are descriptive enough so we know what we are downloading. I wouldn't want to be surprised and download a picture of someone in the shower.
I counted on all of you guys to take tons of pictures, so please don't disappoint me and not upload your stuff to Jeff's FTP server. And the more pictures of me, the better. hahaha

Ok the file server is up, but there's nothing on it yet.
Sooooo...
Everyone that has pictures email me so I can give you the login/password info to dump your pictures on it. It's plenty fast, it's on a dedicated T1. :)
I won't be home until around 9pm cst, so if you email me between now and then I may not get back to you for a bit. Thanks. :)

Sounds great, Jeremy. Email me the credentials and I'll upload photos tonite. I would suggest that everyone create their own directory with their (Taylor Forum) name and then we won't have naming conflicts.
thx.

Once I get my pictures developed and scanned, I'll shoot you an email! Of course, since I still have film in my camera, this may take awhile:p
Man, I need a new digital camera...

If you are familiar with FTP, it's 65.124.75.190, login: taylorstock, password: photos.
So far it's worked in about 50% of the browsers for people that have tried.
If you want to try that, copy/pasted this:
ftp://taylorstock:photos@65.124.75.190/
If neither work out for you, shoot me an email. :)

Jeffrey, the second one worked for me on IE5.5. I have the same browser at home, so I'm sure it'll work there, too. (I didn't try the first one because the second is easier! :) )
Thanks for taking the time to set this up, and thanks to everyone who took all those great pictures!

Photos are back online.
I had to do some router work and thus took the server down for a bit.
All is well now. :)

I still can't get there in Internet Explorer. I have no idea why.
What's a good FTP client from downloads.com?

search for cuteFTP 2.3
I think that is the version that has the glitch that makes it not cancel itself after 30 days like it should...
If not, just get any other cuteFTP and re-DL every 30 days (or set the date back on your computer every 30 days :) )

It depends on the FTP abilities of your browser.
You can download an FTP utility from www.download.com or www.shareware.com .
CuteFTP or FTP Explorer or WS_FTP are all good ones.
Once you get that you need 3 simple credentials:
IP Adress (or Host Address): 65.124.75.190
Login: taylorstock
Password: photos
That's it!

Jeffrey, I'm having trouble with the server this morning. I'm not complaining (I really appreciate this service), just noting it for your reference.
When I try to go there in IE5.5, the browser locks up. It worked fine on Friday and over the weekend (also in IE5.5) but today, nothing. Netscape 4.7 will go there, but it's very pokey and less than inclined to download anything. I tried my FTP software and got in, but again, things were slow, and after downloading about a half-dozen pictures, the system basically kicked me out. (I'm not taking it personally, though! :) )
It could just be that a lot of people are trying to get in, so I'll hold off and try again later. As I said, I'm just passing this along for reference.

Heya Chris,
Sorry about that. I had to reboot the thing.
Wonderful Microsoft products only work for a few days until you have to reboot. :P
Should be okay now though hehe.
