Folks,
I just wanted to drop a quick line to express how wonderful it was for my wife and I to meet you all. I did not get to spend as much time with everyone I wanted to, but really enjoyed spending the weekend with all of you. What a great group JR has brought together!
I cannot say enough about Uncle Bob and staff!!! I now really feel like he is my Uncle Bob. What a wonderful man... He was very gracious to all of us lucky enough to attend.
I have already informed my UPS delivery man that two pieces of VERY precious cargo are on the way. He assured me they will be taken care of.
To you fine folks that I met, stay in touch...
Best Regards,
Doug L. :)

Doug.
It was nice to meet you and your wife, as well as Tbondo and his family
My wife had a great time at Dave & Busters with the other wife's.
It was great that people from all over the country could get together and have so much in common. It's hard to believe that you can meet that many people all at one time and after only two days feel like every one of them was a good friend.
At the end of the weekend we hated to say goodbye.

You said it man... I feel like I have known some of you folks all my life. What a nice place to visit (The TGF) after a tough day at work!
We enjoyed meeting you also. Take care and stay in touch...

Ditto here too guys.......
I really am thankful to J.R. and Taylor Guitars for setting up such a fabulous event. We hit it off so well as a group, it was scary. I won't be able to forget all the people that I met and hung out with last weekend. It's nice to have this forum to fall back on.
Mike C, David M, Ian, Gutch, Rob, J.R., Tim B, Tbondo..........the list goes on. We had a ton of fun!!!! Rob and Gutch and I probably wouldn't have ever guessed J.R. to be such a huge Styx fan if it weren't for the 2am jam session Friday night. David and Ian and I played through well over $50k worth of guitars Saturday morning, that was eye-opening! Open mic was fun to hear the talent present on this forum. Steve314 is better than he thinks, that song sounded awesome just one man w/ a guitar up there. TaylorSmitten(notice the capital S?), you guys were fantastic. You should've asked to play my 414ce, but like you said, I would have wanted it back! I personally wish that I was a bit more warmed up and a whole lot less nervous up there. I should have just closed my eyes, that how I practice. Oh well, it was still fun.
While we may never see an event the likes of Taylorstock ever again, I for one vote now for an annual get together somewhere in this great nation of ours so I can see my 50+ TGF friends again.

Doug - it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife. I am excited about the prospects of a Florida get together and agree with the others about waiting until we all have our new guitars in order to display them. It was wonderful meeting everyone involved with Taylorstock. I have many memories of the entire event, especially Saturday. Picking our own wood was very exciting and hearing all of the awesome talent represented on this forum was great!
Mike A - Thanks so much for all of your input in picking the wood out for my guitar - it is going to be absolutely beautiful and I can't wait until I have it in my hands. I knew that I wouldn't be satisfied with just an ordinary piece of ovangkol after seeing your guitar - yours is completely fabulous. Thanks again for the offer to use it during open mic Saturday night. But, like TaylorSmitten said you would have wanted it back.

You know, I just can't help getting this wide grin across my face when I think of this past weekend.
And thanks for the kind words, Mike...!

Hey Doug & tbondo,
Have that St. Augustine get together next June or early July and I might be able to come. My wife has relatives in Palm Coast and we have come down there the last 3 years. A great place for us to vacation. We saw bagelsgirl this past July while we were down there.
Your friend in Illinois,
Mark

Mark,
Whether or not our get together coincides with your trip, maybe you and your wife could meet us at our place in St. Augustine for a mini jam and dinner. Keep me posted on your travel plans as next year rolls around. Take care...
Best Regards,
Doug L.
Thanks for the offer! Let's keep in touch.

Terry,
Robin and I enjoyed talking with you and Wanita last weekend as well. I think we all met some of the nicest people we will ever meet from both Taylor and the TGF. You folks stay in touch. I can't wait to see pictures of your new 912. I am sure she will be a beauty! Take care...
Best Regards,
Doug L. :)

Hey Doug L-
Two guitars, huh?
And just how did you manage that?
(Last time I saw you you were trying to sweet talk the Mrs. into agreeing that you would get ONE...it wasn't looking too good for you either HA HA)
Well, congratulations, and Robin, you are a good woman ;)

Bagelsgirl,
I was shooting for one and sweet talked her into to two. I guess I am glad I negotiate for a living... I have a wonderful wife! She fully realized this was possibly a one in a lifetime purchase. Bob REALLY broke out his personal stash of wood. I was simply amazed at the consistency and quality of all the wood I saw.
We might get down Saturday night to see you play. I should have some photos developed by then to show you. Take care...
Best Regards,
Doug L. :)

Doug and Terry,
And everyone else for that matter.
My wife and I would love to get together with you guys again. Connie just loved both Wanita and Robin and can't wait to see them again. We will make every effort to make it to any place where it is convenient for you guys. And if you can ever make it out to California, you are always welcome to stay with us. I have a fairly large house and plenty of room. Also with the High Ceilings the acoustics are great for jam sessions.
lets stay in touch.

Mike,
Thanks for your generous offer! I don't think we will be back in CA for some time. However, you never know what life may bring. I am sure our paths will cross again sometime. If not sooner, perhaps Taylorstock II? If you ever make it down to Florida, let me know...
Best Regards,
Doug L. :)
