I arrived in sunny San Diego this morning around 11am.

I've walked around the Fashion Valley Shopping Center and checked out the Town and Country this afternoon. Plan to go to the Zoo and maybe do a pre-TGF Taylor Tour tomorrow and do the tourist thing to Tijuana on Thursday am.

If there's a paradise on earth, San Diego is it. After DC (I was showing temps of 103 yesterday driving around) the weather is absolutely perfect. Sunny with a light breeze. Ate outside (which I never do!). Palm trees waving, etc.

The T&C is a nice resort complex, several buildings with hotel rooms, lots of swimming pools, restaurants, etc. For what its worth I'm in the Regency Tower, 7th floor with a glorious view of the San Diego Union-Tribune's parking lot and dumpster. They said at the front desk they'd try to put us close but of course its up to what's vacant so I wouldn't count on it.

As far as meeting for Dave and Busters on Thursday night I agree that meeting in the lobby makes sense. Each of the buildings has a lobby however there is a main lobby where you go to book in so I'd suggest meeting around there. I'll be the bearded guy with very little hair and I'll be wearing some kinda Taylor t-shirt.

:)

Tim- glad to hear you made it safely!

For those of you flying in to San Diego, note how close you come to some of the buildings in the landing pattern- fun stuff! There was actually a controversy back in the 80s about a parking structure that was a little too tall!

It is indeed paradise as far as the mainland US goes...perfection in weather.

Tim- BEWARE of the little mexican children selling chicle to you in TJ...one will jam a tray into your stomach and while you are recovering from that shock, another slips in behind you and picks your wallet...

Im tellin ya, though...CHECK OUT THE HOTEL DEL CORONADO!!

Built in 1888, all wood, victorian architecture- idyllic old style victorian beachfront resort, and a state landmark.

My dad used to smuggle greyhounds back and forth across the border at Tijuana. If you took 'em to Mexico they had to be impounded for 30 days before you could bring them back. You lost too much revenue having them out of the races for that long during the season.
Just a little weird family history!
