Hey folks, if anybody is within reasonable distance to Thomasville Ga and in need of something to kill time on a Friday night, I will be performing at CoCroft's music at 8:15 PM. I have a couple of guests lined up to sit in as well, and I'm also bringing along Miss Lauren Coggins (lcogginz) to perform a few tunes with me. If you need more info or directions, visit the store's website at www.cocroftsmusic.com and we sure hope to see you there.

Dang - used to be down the road in Tallahassee. It's a fair road trip from Raleigh. I'll call some friends and let them know.

Allen... you need to come just a bit further north. If you perform anywhere in the Atlanta area, I'll be there. ;)

Allen tends to send his "disciples" up north (like Adam Wright to the Mayville fest, a really nice "kid" who blew everyone's socks off-including one Clay Hess-a judge!). What's more, Adam was really a sincere young man, who counts Allen as a close friend.
If Adam doesn't consider himself quite up to Allen (which is what he told me!), I don't know if I EVER want to hear Allen!! (just kidding--I'd sit at his feet and mumble "I'm not worthy" as a mantra" )
Let's all hope ol' "Pistolero" comes home with another prize dread--and, Allen--if you ever want to thin the herd, I live REEEALLLY near Mayville, and.....

Allen's a gifted guitarist, and Lauren has the voice of an angel. I know that everyone who attended had a great time! Any pictures?

You know, it's Monday already and I'm still waiting for a review of the gig.
Did the dynamic dou get sidetracked along the way?

Hey guys, sorry about the time lapse for a reply. It was a fairly long trip in a short period of time, and once we got home we just kind of tried to get over it. It was a good trip though, we had a good turnout, and the crowd included some folks that I hadn't seen since I was a kid playing the festivals back then. In fact, one of them brought an 8x10 from when I was maybe 12 years old or so, to show off. That was a pleasant surprise. Lauren saw it, and said that I was a cute kid, and then promptly asked, 'what happened?' :D
I started out solo for a little while, then brought Lauren up to perform a few tunes with me. On her last tune, I brought up Mike Snelling to play upright bass with us. Lauren done wonderfully, and recieved numerous compliments. She was also gracious enough to watch over my cd table while I was talking to the crowd after the show, and she was asked if she had a cd of her own. That's something we definitely have to work on. ;)
After Lauren finished performing, Mike stayed on the stage and I brought up Mickey Abrahams to play some mandolin. We had a good time, and when it was over, I played for just under two hours, so I hope folks got their money's worth. It seemed like they had a good time. Nobody threw any fruit, so it couldn't have been too bad I guess. To be honest, we got two standing ovations, which was actually pretty cool.
We got a few pictures, and some friends took some as well, so I hope to get a pic or two up for you guys.

Sure wish I could have made that one Allen.
Seems like I am missing them all lately.
I can always hope for the next one I suppose.
Well, what about the pictures ? :)

Well, Lauren took the pictures on my camera so she's obviously not in any of them. And the ones that my friends took didn't come out, so all I have are a couple of myself with the guys, and I know you guys don't want to see my ugly mug when you've been waiting to see Lauren's pretty face.lol. :D
