I'm still not sure ... maybe the 655 (Maple/Sitka, Nano LKSM strings, C#) ... or the NS (Brazilian/Engelmann, Savarez high ... though I hope they'll be extra-high by next week) ... or the 714ce-ltd (Cocobolo/Cedar, Poly lights) ... I don't know ... what should I bring?

I have the same concerns about commuting, but I'm hopeful that the folks at Taylor will have a safe place to stash the guitar while we're off doing other things. If it's not a good idea to bring it on Friday, that would be good to know.

Either a 510 Elxir meds or a 614ce with Elix lites, or maybe the JKSM with Elix lites.

You're welcome to bring your guitars. Taylor has a place where you can stash them during the tour, etc.

Hey JR,
Do you think perhaps we could arrange to have someone from service give our guitars a quick once-over while we're there? A quick "Tune Up" (fret dress, neck adjustment) would be a welcome treat!
Just curious...

I'm bringing my Guild D46-BLD (1980 and beat to HECK)! I plan to purchase my first Taylor at the event!

Hey Buddy! Glad to see you finally made it on!!! It'll be a nice comparison between your Guild with 20 years of play time versus a New 615! Gonna be a tough choice!!!!

For the open mic night thing, I was thinking about also bringing my Alvarez-Yairi DY-66 (in addition to the 314). Will I be shunned and cast away for such a thing?

Just for the heck of it, here's a picture of my beloved Yairi: My Beloved Yairi (http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/yairiguitars/vwp?.dir=/&.src=gr&.dnm=1987+DY-66+Woodeshed.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/yairiguitars/lst%3f%26.dir=/%26.src=gr%26.view=t)

As fate would have it, today was the day the PS14 was to arrive from Germany (UPS Guaranteed 1030 Worldwide Express Delivery). I stayed home from work to welcome it.....and they failed to get the guitar to the delivery point, so it ain't gonna happen today! Just a little miffed, here.
You might cotton to the fact that I'll be on the plane for Taylorstock (we're wheels up at 0700)at the time they want to deliver tomorrow, and that's a problem. After a bunch of hassle, and several escalations, they are going to call by 1000 AM today to tell me if they have managed to intercept the package and change the address to San DIego.
If that happens, I'll have a "new to me" PS14 as my TS axe.
That should mean we all get to "ooh and aah", ...which I'll take to the factory so the custom shop can check it out????? Sounds good to me, at least. Then I just have to talk the airlines into 1st class locker (cabin)stowage on the way home. I'm a FF on the carrier (Continental), so that might work.

Well, I've decided to bring my Alberico OM just for grins. I guess it's going to become an honorary Taylor as this guitar also accompanied me to the Mid-Atlantic get together. I just spoke with the builder (Fabrizio Alberico), and asked him about gate checking the instrument. He said as long as the guitar is properly packed it shouldn't be a problem. I verified that the guitar is covered on my insurance policy just in case the worst happens.
I really wanted to bring this guitar so I can A/B against some of the other guitars available. It will really help me select the apporpriate tone woods for my new Taylor. I want something that will compliment the Alberico. I guess I don't need two guitars with similar voices.
See everyone TOMORROW!!
David
