Hi! By the time you read this, it'll probably be too late to see Kate Early & me do a special duet show today, 5/27 (read: lots of trad songs and familiar covers as well as my stuff) at the soon-to-close Changes Coffeehouse & Bookstore in Park Forest, IL, (250 Cunningham Dr.) which is celebrating its final shows all day tomorrow. We go on from 2:30-3:30, but there is music from noon through 9:30, when Mark Dvorak of Weavermania finishes up and leads us in the final singalong. The weekend is dedicated to the music of the late great Tom Dundee, and we'll be doing two (at least) of his songs. There's a chance you'll hear Andina & Rich on 89.1 WNUR's Saturday Morning Folk Show from 10-noon (a Dundee tribute--depends on whether Steve can make it down from Madison); and on 90.9 (I think) WLUW from 6-7pm, selections from the Andina & Rich CD "Because We Can" will be featured on Dave Bragman's monthly "Old Folkies at Home" show.

Next Fri. 6/2 at 7:30, SASS! hits Wild Hog in the Woods Coffeehouse at the Wil-Mar Center, 953 Jenifer St., Madison, WI, We've played there solo and in other bands, but it'll be our first show together there. Open mic at intermission, so feel free to spread your wings on stage (this means you, Marge!). And Sat. 6/3, Andina & Rich join forces to host the open mic at Escape Java Joint in the 800 bl. of the Willy St. Corridor (that's Williamson Ave. to the uninitiated) from 7-10:30 p.m.---expect a guest appearance from Susan Urban (she may do a solo or two besides a SASS! set).

And the weekend of June 9-11 finds SASS! holding down the fort at the Gebhard Woods Dulcimer Festival in Morris, IL (in a lovely state park with plenty of camping). Come for the NHRA races in Joliet, stay for the music in Morris. I play as part of the Dulcimer Society of N. Ill. on Sat. (classical repertoire); and then SASS! has a 2:45 slot Sunday (guitars & banjo, too) and we lead a 90-minute songwriting seminar at 4 pm.

Looking ahead, June 17 finds us way up in Traverse City, MI, gorging ourselves on wild cherries and then playing Horizon Books at 7:30. And of course, a week later is Jim & Alicia Wallace's AGF get-together in Algonquin! (I may be able to haul along my Rancilio Silvia, so lattes will flow along with the music).
