Hi guys,

I am thinking of having a "Open Jam" night for my son (age 15) and other youths in my area. He has been playing about 3 years now (electric) but does not get much of a chance to play guitar with others. He is a bit on the quiet side. I would be having these Jams in our garage but I am not sure how to go about "hosting" it with adult supervision. Also I was just going to put a large sign on our mailbox telling the day and time. Any ideas on this ? I don't want the jam sessions to turn into a free for all for the kids in the neighborhood. Thanks, TJ

I think it is a great idea. If he`s taking lessons he could hook up with other students for an informal get-together at your home. As far as supervision yes yes yes, but be the laid back happy host and keep the refreshments stocked. who knows maybe the other kids parents would like the idea after seeing what you have done and host one as well at their home. It could start a weekly thing! Better than on the streets doing other things.BK

I like the idea, but why limit it to youth? Lots of folks would like any chance to sit and play with others.
