Hey George;
Wish I could go, I've seen him in concert twice, great player and a very nice guy!
I would highly recommend going, I can't go I'll be travelling.

That's close to me. I do not know Beppe Gambetta's music.

Where can I get details about the workshop? How much does it cost?

Its a workshop sponsored by Taylor Guitars and its free. Seating is 1st come, 1st served.

Taylor sponsored Beppe in my town and he exceeded all expectations. I would have gladly paid money to attend. Besides being a virtuoso, his comedic timing is second only to Milton Berle. About halfway through his program, a woman and her child got up to leave [undoubtedly for the restroom]..and he stopped in mid-lick and pleaded.."please stay..I promise to play better". Bring some extra cash in case he has some of his cookbooks for sale. Taylor couldn't have found a better choice to represent them. I thought they quit making nice guys.

How was the workshop?
Can anyone provide a post-workshop wrap up?

I attended and enjoyed it very much. The turnout was better than was probably expected as the acoustic room was filled and the staff struggled to find enough seats for everyone.

First 30+ minutes, Beppe gave us all an intimate performance of his music and personality. He spoke about his personal musical path beginning with Led Zepplin until completely falling for Doc Watson. He demonstrated his killer flat picking and diverse music. This was followed by Q&A, more music and a demo of several Taylor guitar models off of Sam Ash's wall.

Having never attended a Taylor clinic before, I was in the minority showing up with my guitar which I found out was not necessary. Nevertheless, it is always a learning experience and inspirational to see a great player up close. It was a lot of fun; the price could not be beat; and I will attend again in the future.

I also got to meet George who is a very talented guitar player in his own right. Thanks again George for posting here about it.

Sorry, I was so busy yesterday I was not able to post a report. But here you have it. Taropatch couldn't have said it better. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop as well and hoping we have more of this around.

After the workshop, Andy and I were able to exchange some tunes. Got to play his very nice Taylor 414KCE (Andy-beautiful guitar and I never expected it to have a great bass response... it sounded like it had rosewood B/S on it!). Andy, who is also a very talented player, got to play some nice hawaiian slack-key tunes.
