I recently attended a house concert and workshop that Paul gave in Northern California. Had a great time at both!
Don't miss it!
This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with Paul Asbell & Brooks Williams at our local coffeehouse that I co-promte acts and run sound for.
Very, very nice performance, if you play acoustic guitar you've got to see these guys perform live! Or at least listen to their CD's.
Brooks Williams is totally responsible for me getting into playing the guitar - total inspiration the first time I heard him play (1992). I'm addicted to open-tunings and fingerstyle playing. I've done sound for him at least a dozen times. I never get enough!
Paul was warming up on his OM (can't recall the maker), while I was getting cables, DI's, mic's and everything wired up - it sounded so nice, it made me stop in my tracks! It's nice to hear awesome players perform on awesome instruments. It makes sound engineering so much easier to do.
Two very nice guys. They played fingerstyle, blues, bottleneck slide and acoustic americana music.

Paul, are there any clips on your website of you playing solo? I would love to hear one if so. If you are ever in California again, please post a notice here! I am sure there are a few of us folks who would definitely show up.
Looking forward to hearing your playing. :)
(P.S. I loved Mark Blanchard's guitars too. Played a few at the 2003 Healdsburg Festival. Wish I could have afforded one - a ziricote/italian spruce in particular.)

Hello, Casey!
I'm about an hour from catching my flight outta Burlington... 'cept there's a real question about NYC weather later this evening. I may fly tomorrow instead (beats the heck outta sleeping in JFK airport overnight!)
Give a holler the next time you're up this way...

Thanks for the question...
There are MP3 clips on my site- just check EITHER of the pages devoted to my 2 CD's... you'll find 'em!

Leave it to me to miss it. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
We go to the Main Street Cafe about 2-3 times a month and I haven't paid enough attention to this end of the forum or I wouldn't have missed this show for the world.
