Alicia and I are proposing 6-24-06 as a potential date for a Chi-town hook up at our place.

Feedback?

(Note: Edited for revised date)

Hopefully this time I can get more folks out here! :D

oh, wow. I don't have the axes to keep up!

I used to have an '82 Taylor 815 and a '98 Gibson J100 ext but alas both have been stolen. :(

Maybe I'll be worthy if I pick up the Martin I've been eyeing.

I won't know until the time approaches whether I'll make it this time around. I'm in the middle of personal travails and there are a number of things in the offing that might preclude my attendance.

However, I'd love to come if I can... Jim and Alecia are incredibly gracious hosts!

If you can make it, I highly recommend it!

Does anyone besides me have a copy of "Rise up Singing" ( the songbook ) to bring for possible jam sessions?

being so far ahead in the future, it's kinda hard to tell due to what usually ends up being a hectic travelling schedule in the summertime.

however, if i'm in town, i'd love to make it up there, especially since i had to miss the last one.

thanks for the offer, jim!!

I agree... I'm hoping to make this one too. Last time I saw any of you was on Don's deck a couple of summers ago... that's too long!

Looking forward to it!

I look forward to attending, but at this point it's impossible to say whether I'll be able to make it or not....But I'm hopeful that I'll be able to attend.

I have missed every Chicago area Get-Together thus far for one reason or another, but would like to be there this time!

What area are you in Jim? I'm far west subs.

I would like to try to attend. My son lives in Schaumburg. We could stay there that weekend making it a possibility. I'll have to wait and see though if my one of my other kids would be around to dog sit. It would be fun to meet some AGF people.

MAKE it a GREAT day!!! :D

From the lack of response this is perhaps not as common a (folksong) jam book as I had thought. Nontheless I'll bring few copies of a small number of common songs in easy format that have the potential for use in a guitar circle ( hopefully I won't be the only one ). I find a good source for such things to be.....

Astrummer,

Now you made Alicia curious, so she bought a copy at Borders! :D

I might also have a copy from the time I had to do the kids' singalong in the Local 1000 room at Folk Alliance a couple of years ago.

Not sure if this thread will have the staying power to appear at the top of the list. So, I was wondering if everyone who's interested can sign up somewhere and then get an invite as the date draws near.

Regards,
Mark

Consider me a 'maybe.' It sounds like a good time. My friend and I would most likely be the young guns of the group at 20 and 21, but rock on.

I'm a maybe too -- looks like great fun! It will depend on schedule as the date approaches, but I will do my best to attend. Where do you live? I'm right in the city but have wheels....

6-17 didn't work out so well after all

6-24 is the new date; it's still a way out, so as time gets closer, I'll try and send some emails. Hope the new date works for folks, hope to see a bunch of you here!

Jim,
I still can't make it. The first date was our departure date for the Colorado 500 Charity Motorcycle Ride and the 24th will be our departure date from Colorado heading home.

If the date changes again please let me know.

June 24 is better for me... I have a wedding to shoot on the 17th.

I've only met a few people here and perhaps I can join in this time. I'll send a PM with my email address...

Russ

By the way, I'm still very much looking forward to this.

Could someone post or PM the actual address where we are meeting? I'm assuming that the gathering is going to go late enough that I'll find a hotel room after the festivities, and then head back to Holland Michigan in the morning. I'd like to get a reservation made well ahead of time...

Bill... I believe you already are! ;) If you are available on June 24... c'mon over! More details will be coming as the date gets closer I am sure. I'm not hosting... just looking forward to it as well.
