View Full Version : So who's staying where?

I noticed some folks were talking about staying at the Motel 6 that's closer to Taylor and some are staying at T&C.
I don't really care personally, but I'd hate to miss out on after-hours jams and whatnot. :)
So who's staying where? :)
I'd suspect that the majority of non-local people attending are staying at the T&C which is the 'official' residence.
Its where I'll be. :)

Well, if most everyone here is staying at T&C, please tell me!
I don't want to be the only person at Motel 6. ;)
I'll cancel my reservations and reserve a room at T&C before the cutoff date. :)
We're at the T & C. I can't wait!

Folks,
Me and the better half are at the T & C and I am starting to get a little "stoked" about the trip. Still trying to talk the wife into the custom order, hand selected wood, once in a lifetime, do or die, (you get the idea...) guitar of a lifetime 914-c.
Wish me well! I am testing my negotiating skills!!!
Guitar crazy,
Doug L.

I think I am the only one staying at the motel 6, and that is simply because of finances after major car repairs almost kept me from coming at all. Reguardless, I plan on attending most if not all of the happenings at T+C to.
I am not affraid to drive down there, since it is my birth place, even plan on cruizong the old home stead if I can remember how to get there.

What part of town? The nice thing about San Diego is that everywhere is pretty easy to get to...

We're at the T&C, and hoping for some jam sessions and meet and greets (perhaps a dram or two of single malt scotch?).
My negotiating is complete...I just have to decide (after hearing the Taylorstock combos) which guitar to order....I'm starting to think it's a X12 with a redwood or englemann top and cindy inlay (ala 900 series 2000, including the top border, the neck bordered to the rosette, and the rosette in abalone), rosewood or tortoise binding, TBondo in MOP on the bridge, chrome Schallers, and 1 7/8" neck....the B&S might be ????.....koa (my fav), walnut? (never heard it), EI rosewood, Brazilian rw, who knows??? so many flavors, need to make an "ear" choice.
I'm heading past excitement to anticipation!!! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Well it looks like I'll be staying at T&C then. ;)
I suppose I won't have much trouble finding a ride to/from Taylor every day either. If I stay at T&C and can probably do without the rental car then I'm guessing.
I as well am getting very excited about spec'ing out an NS62. :)
I can't wait. :)

T&C also. Hey Tom - Only a dram or two? I'm thinking a bit more than that will be in order for this occasion!!! :ha:

If I bring the single malt I'm thinking of, a dram or two will be delightful, and any more than that becomes conspicuous consumption. Think 1969 Glenlivet, vat strength = 105 proof, bottled in 1998. A dark and mysterious elixir. That's what I'm talking about.

I'm partial to a smoky Lagavulin, but am not a regular Scotch drinker. Rather, I'm thinking a nice dry Sapphire Martini or two on Thursday evening with dinner will set the tone nicely for the weekend.
Looking forward to meeting you in the lounge...

T&C! The room is reserved and the rental car is reserved also. I haven't decided if I'm actually going to rent a car, but I figured it was best to reserve one just in case.
August 8th can't get here soon enough.
David
PS I sold my 714ce to make room for the Taylor I'm going to order at Taylorstock. Can anyone provide a loaner for the open mic sessions? I'll probably bring the Baby, but I'll definitely want to play a full size instrument on stage.

You will probably find a nicer guitar then mine to play while you are there since you're specialty is fingerstyle (perhaps a k14 with cedar). But if you don't, I should be bringing my 814ce and you can use that if you want. You already know what it sounds like and how it feels, so you can decide.

I'll have my 314 (with BLUESTiCK pickup); you can use that if you'd like. I may also risk eternal Taylor ****ation by bringing my Martin D-40 and my Alvarez-Yairi DY-66 (with a Matrix) as well...

Jen and Steve,
Thanks SO much for the offer of letting me play a guitar. My only high end instrument right now is my Alberico, and I just don't think it would all that welcome at the Taylor get together.
Jen,
After playing your guitar it will be VERY difficult finding one nicer than yours. If I do get to play your 814 I won't need an amp. That thing is a canon! I still remember it from the southeast get together. Out of everything I layed my hands on that day, your 814ce and Mickey's K14 were head and shoulders above the rest.

I will also be at the T&C,
I will have room for two extra people to Dave and Busters thurs evening and also to taylor factory both days.
Maybe someone can save the expense of a rental.
Hey Mike,
I won't get in in time for Dave & Buster's, but would appreciate one of those spots in your car for the factory. I am so excited about this!
