If all of those that are planning to be at the Jax gathering please make a show of virtual hands please. I have something worked up for food and need to get a fairly close tally of those attending. Please just state how many will be in your party. Jerry Carris told me he wanted to practice smoking some ribs, he's been eyeing them for awhile at Sams. Jerry is the minister at the church where he is allowing us to do this at. ;)

Allen,
I have my hand up. Can you see it?
I will definitely be there barring some really unforseen event(s).
But I will insist on at least helping out with any costs for the food and also a donation to the hall.

I'll be there... Thumper, party of two, although my eating habits are more like 1/4, so party of 1.25 as far as food goes.
Thanks!

Barring any unknown interferences (like getting a job), I'll be there......that makes two (Vicki and I).....

There was an awful lot of folks that were talking about coming to this over the last couple of months, but just this few have posted that they are coming. If you are planning on attending, wether yoy are in the Jax area or coming in from out of town for an overnight, doesn't matter, but I need to know if you plan to attend, so we know how much food to have. If you haven't posted and plan on attending, please do so. We don't want anybody to go without, but we don't want to overbuy more than necessary either. ;)
It's going to be a good day of guitars, fun, and fellowship.

Okay, so I'm travelling 1000 miles, putting up with going through a security line at the airport that feels more like gym class, risking life, limb, wood and steel to come to Jacksonville - and although everyone has their choices to make, I'd sure like to meet as many folks as can come!
These gatherings, wherever they are, are always great. Text on a screen doesn't tell you anything about the wonderful people who frequent the Forum, and without exception I've enjoyed meeting everyone at these events, big and small. If you live in the area, or close enough to drive, even if it's for several hours, it's worth coming. It enriches my playing every time - and it enriches my experience on the AGF, too.
So get the lead out, and get your fanny to Jacksonville!!! :D :D :D

Hey Lauren,
Yep...after almost two months (Sept 19 to Nov 7) of stringing me along, the hiring manager told me they decided not to fill the position (that they had initially advertised in March 05 and told me I was getting an offer for on Sept 19).
I am having the same feeling as Wade and Alan about this Jax meeting...the rest ot the Florida boys and girls aren't raising their hands on this get-together......where are they at??????
and my attendance is getting iffy (Jesse and Erin are moving into a house they're buying in Wilmington area and need help prepping and moving - they close on the 8th) and I'm waiting to hear from a Sacramento CA opportunity that is interested in my services.....
Tha last FL gathering was Lisa and RickS and two other folks....hope this one gets more participation than that

I'm sorry, Tom, but your attendance is mandatory. I've got a hankerin' for Fishin' Blues and you're the only person I know who knows all the words. ;)

Hmmmm, about a 7 hour drive. I might have to see about taking next Friday off and heading down that way. I don't quite have my hand raised, but I'm on the fence.

Well, I hope she can make it, too, dang it! I'm not being very conciliatory, am I? :D
And squintbro, I hope you can figure a way down!
Seriously, however many people end up coming, I'm planning on having a good time!!!!

Wade,
Looks like we'll be stopping there on our way up to Wilmington NC to help the kids move.......so, we'll probably overnite on Sat. ---- where are you staying and what was the cost?......that $80 at Alan's selection is a bit steep for an unemployed fellow.

Well as it turns out, Jerry decided since he's never smoked ribs before, he needs to practice at home a few times before going public, lol. So we'll do something else. I'll probably get a deli tray or something from the Publix down the street, just to have something to munch on. I suppose everyone can plan on dinner or something afterwards. Food is secondary though, I'm looking forward to seeing everybody, meeting new friends and seeing old friends. Oh yeah.. bring your guitars, lol :D

Stixx, glad to see you can make it down. I was in your neck of the woods last weekend, working on my website with a friend there in Marietta.
As far as I'm concerned, Bar B Que is a food group, isn't it? :D

It sure is if you live here in Atlanta , that's for sure . Heck I had it for lunch
at chruch today and still got a mess of leftovers in the fridge. LOL
Next time you are here by all means let me know . I have a friend who does
websites too here and he is going to do mine after Christmas . He has a new
product out called Music House and it will be another Garage band sort of thing where you sign up for a few bucks a month and have an individualized
website designed so you can add your own stuff and list dates for gigs and
such ., It should be a hoot. One of my buddies already got his up and running and Im looking forward to the same. Now I will HAVE to record more
of my stuff.

Can't wait to meet everyone.

Tbondo, I feel your pain brother! lol.
It's been raing here for two days now. The roads are wet and slick, so you folks driving in please be careful. I don't want to post my phone number on the board, but if any of you think you might want it or need it as a backup, just PM me and I'll PM the numbers back to you.
For those traveling in, the weather looks to be remaining cloudy throughout the weekend, but less rain. Highs in the 60's, lows in the 40's, and wind 5 to 10 mph. You can always count on doubling their wind predictions, I fish and know this for a fact. All in all though it doesn't look too bad, December is always hit or miss.
I'm looking forward to the weekend.
