Went to the 2005 North Carolina Thumb & Finger Style Guitar Convention saturday. It was held at Mitchell College in Statesville. For a person that loves fingerpicking guitar, I couldn't have asked for a better day. Everywhere you went there was somebody flawlessly playing a Chet Atkins tune. There were lots of awesome guest artists. Buster B. Jones was there dazzling everyone with his trademark speed and humor. I didn't think anyone would be able to follow Buster's act, but we also had the privledge of Richard Smith! He's an absolute genius. If you ever get a chance to see either one of these guys, I promise you won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to next year!
Thanks for the report. I would love to attend a venue like that. Buster is a hell of player !
Awesome Deltoid! Glad you got to go. What a treat. What was it Chet Atkins said about Buster B. Jones? I think it was "He plays like he's double parked"
Hearing you at Monroestock, it sounds like you've got some licks of your own though.
Thanks for sharing!
