OK kiddies, here it is. The location for the AGF gathering in Jax, on December 10th 2005 is Oak Crest United Methodist Church, 5900 Ricker Rd., Jax., in the fellowship hall. the pastor is a good friend and has allowed us to use their facilities, he asked the obvious that we have no alcohol present, and clean up after ourselves. I'll stay and clean, and only ask that those attending kick a few bucks towards the church for the use of their building and electricity for the day. Lisa and I discussed the time, and decided on 11 AM until 5 PM, but that can basically be decided differently if need be. For those coming from out of town, there are a number of restaraunts nearby both the church and the motel.

For accomodations, I took the liberty of blocking a few rooms, but at the next exit up. Simply because the only motel at the same exit, well.. I rode through the parking lot and looked around, and frankly I wouldn't stay there and wouldn't expect you to either. ;) So the hotel is Hampton Inn, off Blanding Blvd in Orange Park. It is 5 miles from the church. The best rate I could get was $80.10 per night, based on our approximate group size (10% off $89). There are other hotels at that exit (Motel6, Laquinta Inn, Super8), I chose HI because Blanding is an incredibly busy traffic area, and that motel has easiest access in/out. Feel free to contact the others, but I don't have contact info, but just look for the Orange Park location for them if you decide to book there.
The info to give if you call Hampton, is confirmation number 88114743, and they were held in my name (Allen Shadd) if more info is needed. The other info is: Hampton Inn, 6135 Youngerman Circle, Jax Fl 32244, and the phone number is 904-777-5313.

As the time gets closer, I will post directions to both the motel and the church. There is also a back way between them so it is totally unnecessary to have to get on/off Blanding, once you are at the motel. I'll show the way from the motel when everybody gets here. I'll also PM my phone number to whoever might want it, as a backup plan. ;)

Jeez, Allen, don't do any legwork or anything! ;) I'm happy to contribute, and help out how/when I can.

Hey, it's month away this weekend--time'll fly...

Thanks!

Good work, Allen. I think I know right where that church is and have even been there years ago.

I added the event to the AGF calendar. Pretty cool...you can apparently request a reminder for the event in the Forum Calendar feature.

Sounds good to me. I'm a couple hours away, but more than willing to help with any details I can. We'll talk more as the time draws near.
Anyone wanting more than a weekend want to come to the Daytona area?

Well, carp.

I won't be able to make the Jax get together... my wife started her new job last week (yay) but there's the small matter of her new employers' Christmas party, which will be on Dec. 10... & attendance is mandatory (boo). New job, so she's not quite ready to challenge such attendance when it's unpaid. But at least it sounds like it'll be a nice evening, judging by the location. We'll just have to muddle through somehow ;)

In the meantime, someone pick a few gnarly runs on my behalf. & thanks to Allen & everyone else that helped pull the thing together -- maybe next time!

I'm re-reserved... I changed to a hotel around the corner. I certainly appreciate the reservation, but I needed to save a little money...

I'll be at the La Quinta on Blanding.

Take care!

Howdy folks, here is the directions to the gathering. From the south, take I-95 N to I295 N. Go to 103rd St exit, and go west. From the north, take I-95 S to I295 S, and go to 103rd St exit. From the west, take I-10 E to I295 S, go to 103rd St exit.

Once you reach 103rd, go just less than a mile West and turn South (left) onto Ricker-between the Walgreen's
Drug Store and the Amoco Gas Station. Oak Crest is located at 5900 Ricker Road and is on the left.

I look forward to seeing all of you that can make it.

Sorry I missed it, but I wouldn't have been able to come the weekend of the 10th anyway, so maybe next time. I look forward to it.
