Eric,
Welcome to the forum. We've got several members in the NoVA area, I'm sure they will chime in. One of our members, Cakes, usually hosts a NoVA get together around Feb, so keep your eyes open for that one.

There are a ton of us here in the DC area. We tend to get together a few times a year. I know there was talk a week ago about when the next one would be. Make sure to watch here for the next thread about it.
But most of us are always up for a gathering to hang out and jam. If you have a place to do it, let us know when and where. I'm sure at least a few of us will show up.

Hi Eric! Welcome aboard, and I hope I'll get to meet you in the near future.

Yup. I've got an SJ made by Kent Hamblin.
We DC-area folks need to have another gathering soon. :)

Depending on timing, I'd be up for something. I'm about 45 miles outside DC.

DC-area is pretty close for me as well. Although it gets busy from now until Christmas, I would certainly make an effort to show up for a nearby event.

I haven't been around much lately, but if I'm available, I'd be up for it. I'm about 50 minutes north of DC.

I'm in the Baltimore county area about 90 minutes north of DC and would also be up for a gathering.

so can we set up a date? or would it be too busy near the holidays? maybe set a date in advance so we could plan accordingly? say mid Jan? I'm gonna throw out some suggestions.
Jan 20 (3rd Fri of Jan) 7pm
Jan 21 (3rd sat of Jan) at noon
location: my church building in Arlington, VA is open. we have a room downstairs that I hosted a gathering for 13thfret.com people earlier this year. it was a great success.
this is just a suggestion. Arlington seems to be a central place

That works for me. Every single time we've gotten together so far it has been a Sat. That seems to always be the best since some people have to drive a good distance to get here. We usually start between 10am-12pm and go until about 5pm when we all head out to a local restaurant. How ever you set it up will be fine by me. Just let us know when and where!

ok, I'm gonna try this.
Jan 21 (3rd sat of Jan 2006) 12 noon
location: my church building in Arlington, VA (location can change if needed)
who's in?
I guess so far, me and maybe jennifer?

Put me down as a maybe. Our baby is due Feb 1, but given that this is child #3, there is a good chance she will show up in late January.

After the weather warms up again...
Eric can chime in his feelings, but... I have PLENTY of space for 15-20 people...
2 Decks outdoors - one is 16x24 and the other is 20x20 with a pool attached to it
Then there is the indoor music room (all windows 16x20)...
so definately when it's 80 or above we can drive the neighbors crazy

I remember something had been mentioned to me. I'm sure something will happen. Now is about the time we have a get together anyways. Just keep a watch and see what happens. I'm sure John will let us know.
