We had such a great time at Anderson's Guitars this past weekend in Frisco (north of Dallas). We were talking with Steve (Anderson) and he said that he hosts a guitar circle/jam once a month at his shop. That is a great idea, and I am wondering if anyone knows of such a monthly gathering in or around San Antonio?
If not, is there a good music store venue for such a monthly gathering?

I guess not!
Steve, I had to "convince" Steve and Jennifer this was something that needed to be done. To be honest it did not take much arm twisting...if any!
If I were you I would find the local "mom & pop" that you like to deal with and pitch the idea to them. I would then have them call Steve or Jennifer and have them share how they have done it.
Good Luck

I wish there was a monthly musical gathering of any sort in SA.
I have trouble finding good jam sessions even. Thankfully I have a really good band to play with instead. :)
I was in Austin last month for a Collings Guitar gathering and on one of the nights I was there, we had a jam at Quincy's Guitars. Although it was mainly for the attendees, they told me that they have a monthly jam there. I believe it's late in the month when they do it, starts around 7 and lasts up until whenever. Quincy's is an awesome store, more mid to high end guitars (no accessories), a great parlor setting. Pat Skrovan owns the place, a real nice guy. Feel free to contact him.
The reason I say this here is because we had a couple of guys from San Antonio that attended the gathering and the jam so I know it's drivable if you want to attend. Once in a while, I heard they get really great players sitting in on the monthly jam.
