Regret I have to cancel our trip to Taylorstock. Had our family pet of 11 years diagnosed with diabetes and need to feed her special food and shots of insulin twice a day. Tried to ge the hotel to allow us to bring her, but they said NO DOGS ALLOWED. Hope everyone has a blast. JR, I would still like to buy a couple shirts, please.

Thanks, Jay

There are other hotels around the area if you still want to come. You can also check the hotels near the factory. They're tons cheaper and they may allow animals. There's a couple semi-nice ones less then 2 miles from the factory. I know Acoustics4Ed is staying at one of them. You may want to check there. We really don't want you to miss this.

Lefty...Im sorry to hear that. I think you should look into Jens suggestion, though. Im sure JR wont mind given the special circumstances, and if your pet is up for the trip, then I know we would all love for you to make it. Check out some other hotels..inland san diego has tons of them.

Good luck and I wish your dog the best.

I empathize with you, Jay. My four year old guinea pig was diagnosed almost three years ago (diagnosed June 28, 1999) and I've been treating her since. Is it possible to have her stay with your vet or a vet technician for the weekend? They're people that are used to dealing with this type of situation ... Or maybe ask a family member to help? I know I'd never ask a friend to take on that type of responsibility. Even if the hotel would allow pets, it's probably not a good idea to bring her anyway. The travel and change in environment would be stressful ... and that will raise BG levels and make it difficult to control.

I hope you can arrange something. My husband's staying home to treat our little fuzzy while I travel to Minnesota for my brother's wedding (actually, I'd rather stay home and let him go to the wedding) ... luckily, he knows how to administer her meds and her BG levels have been pretty stable.
