The prposed schedule for Taylorstock is a bit lean on activities during the day on Saturday.
Are people making plans to go out and do things? Hangin' at the hotel pool? Shopping? Sightseeing?
I'm a local, but I'll be taking off from work to attend. I was just wondering if there was an informal day-time get together planned for that day...

Well it's only until 1:30pm, but I'm game.
My birthday is the next day so I'm not opposed to spoiling myself a bit. :)
Just noticed the meal at Taylor that day is at 7:30pm, so I'd definately be down for a good lunch somewhere and maybe some guitar store hopping? :)

We could do a group trip to Buffalo Brothers that morning. I'm sure they'd treat us nice if we mention that we are all Taylor enthusiasts and a few people are prone to purchasing guitars on the spot while at a music store.
All we have to do is carpool. I've never been there, so I'd be up for the trip.

That's certainly do-able. Jeffrey mentioned something about the Taylorstock schedule kicking in at 1:30 or so. Did I mis-read it?
Buffalo Brothers is about 20-20 minutes north of San Diego, but it's certainly worth the trip; more guitars than you can shake a truss rod at. I'll have to be careful if I go there. They have a CFox Sonoma that just gets me drooling. There are a couple of other Taylor dealers in San Diego, as well. Guitarget, of course. Scotty's Guitars in Escondido (about 30 minutes north) is a dealer. They seem to have a nice representative selection as opposed to the full line (at least that's how it was the last time I was there). Guitar Trader in San Diego is about 10 minutes from the T&C. Nice selection of everything from 3XX's to 8XX's. They only have one 914CE, and no Presentations. They had a DDSM, but apparently the bridge started to lift on it, so they sent it back.
Oh, and by the way, I'm turning 400 with this post...

It says 1:30pm departure to Taylor. Unless I'm a big dummy and can't read, which is very possible :), I'm guessing that's when we should all be back at T&C and heading that way.
So up to that point (or just showing up at Taylor at 2pm) I'm a free man. :)
Guitars and grub sounds like a winner to me. :)

Steve ... and this is not meant to offend ... just to state a fact ... it would be pretty hard if everyone going to TaylorStock try to descend upon Guitar Trader at once ... even if most people stay with the electrics.
As for BB, as long as you treat their stock with respect, they're happy to help you. I've never had anything except good experiences there ... even the first day I walked into their store (Traditional Music in Leucadia, at that time) and played a 420k and 422k for at least an hour before deciding to buy the 420k ... I bugged them quite a bit before making my decision, but they were quite helpful.

And also quoting buddiesorg, "as long as you treat their stock with respect, they're happy to help you"
I cant imagine them treating a group of us well. Ive never had a good experience in that store. The ONLY reason I go there now is because they have things that nobody else has, so Jennifer, I disagree with you and I must say that I am NOT sure they would treat us nice.
I treat their guitars with the utmost respect...I even ASK before playing them, which is something that alot of people neglect to do with guitars sitting at ground level right in front of them, yet I still get treated like a 14 year old heavy metal rocker. Even if we walked in with cash hanging out of our pockets, I dont know if this would change anything.
I was buying a strap and I said "Ill take it" and the guy thought I meant the 914ce that I had been playing that he pulled out of the back for me. It was still in the Taylor area, which is in the back corner, and he was like "ok go get the serial number off of it for me" Im sitting there and he is under the impression that I am buying a 3000 dollar guitar from him in about 45 seconds, and he is telling me to get the serial number for myself and bring the guitar up for myself??? Unbelievable.
Anyway, this BB rant does not detract from the fact that they have a bunch of really nice guitars, I just refuse to ever buy anything from them.

Point taken, Mary. The Acoustic Room at Guitar Trader, while sizeable enough, is pretty well stocked with every form of acoustic (frankly, if you ask me, they'd do well to get those Ovations outta' there!). But you're right, it would be a bit cramped after ten or twelve carloads of Taylor fanatics rolled into the parking lot. Then again, my suggestion wasn't that everyone in attendance make the road trip. Some folks may want to hang at the hotel, go down to Fashion Valley, head to the beach, etc.
And I'll echo the sentiments about Traditional Music. That was a great shop, and NOTHING but acoustics. The first time I walked in there, they were having their monthly "open bluegrass jam" in the room in the back. That's something that, sadly, I don't think they're doing anymore...

Monthly bluegrass jam? Never heard that ... but then, back then I probably only went to Traditional maybe 2-3 times a year.
They do have jams in the front room most Saturdays ... or sometimes in the parking lot.
And, luckily, most of the time I go to BB, there aren't people upstairs in electrics ... or at least I don't hear them.
One thing I don't miss about Traditional Music is the parking ... that place had so little parking ... oh, and I kind of didn't like walking up those stairs ... creaked too much ...

I for one planned a trip to Buffalo Bros. while I was on the West Coast, so I'm down with that idea.
I have a mini-van, so I can take a few other folks....what time does the store open on Saturday???? My wife and daughter may elect to sleep in, but I'll be playing guitar by the pool (not too close) by 7:00 am on both days, as I am a morning person....

If the weather's nice, you guys could always throw a tent up or something. BB is probably too far of a drive, and I'm not sure how much they'd like 40 drooling Taylor fanatics descending on them at once. :)

I have had nothing but good experiences at Buffallo Brothers. I have bought 3-4 guitars from them.
I would be willing to bet they would love to have 40 potential customers (either now or in the future) come to their store. I would be willing to bet that the group would only number about 15-20 at most come Saturday morning.....
