Or is this a really obvious and stupid question? :)

I think we already talked this, but it was a while ago....since many are staying at the same hotel, and will be there Thursday night, some are bringing guitars to play together whenever we can.

I live pretty close to Taylor (like it says over on the left: five minutes from the factory), so I'll have mine...

I'll definitely have my 615, and if I'm feeling adventurous, maybe my 714 as well.

So how is everyone getting their guitars to Taylor stock that isn't driving?
I'm a bit apprehensive to fly with mine. :(
I am bringing my 710 Braz. I have a Smalldog case cover that I use to protect the case and help with temperature in the cargo area. I have flown with her before. I gate check it and hope for the best. I figure that if something happens on the way out (God forbid), I will be right at the factory for repairs. I also have all of my guitars insured for full value. Wouldn't want to be at Taylorstock without the beauty that got me hooked ( that would be my wife as well as my 710).

Hrm, have a link or any more info on the case cover?
Anyone ever try and carry one onto a plane?

I thought about bringing my Mar*** D-40, but I didn't want to be excommunicated from the Forum.
Would bringing a guitar made by "the other guy" be a faux pas? I'll still bring my Taylor, really I will!!!

You're quite the instigator, aren't you, Steve?!? Doesn't bother me... Then again, I'm looking forward to a nice bonfire on Thursday night...

I was bringing the Martin for those who cant bring a guitar, cause I thought they would rather rape thier arms around some wood, rather then sit on thier hands.
Perhaps I was wrong thinking that............we'll see what the mood is when Im packing for the trip. Perhaps I wont bring anything except a lighter for the fire, and just take in everyone elses talent.
Jeffrey,
I can't remember the website. I tried smalldog.com and got an electronics place. You might want to try some of the bigger online music stores.
I know of some people who have carried their guitars on, but I have never had any luck. I am pretty comfortable with gate checking. Supposedly they are the last things put on and the first things taken off and brought right to the plane.
Good luck and see you there!

May bring the 414kce...depends on how we get there. I probably won't fly with it.

Well I've decided I'm not going to bring a guitar. I'm just too scared to fly with my 'baby'. :)
If I could take it on the plane, I'd be ok with it, but I just don't think American Airlines is going to go for that.

For anyone interested, I flew to Israel and back with my 855ce jumbo 12 string. Four different flights. For your information it will fit in the overhead compartment of even a 737. You just need an empty compartment and it will lay flat. Then other people can still place things in the compartment.
Contact the airline to confirm their policy then carry it on. Ask the flight attendent to place it in a safe place if there is no open overhead bin.
Hope this helps. My Guitar goes with me.
