Slack key guitar at Pacific Coffee Co., Sat. Sept 17, 2-4pm Walnut Creek, CA

A couple of weeks ago I slipped into an open mic at a fairly new coffee roastery here in Walnut Creek, thanks to a heads-up by Chris Estes (guyute). The slack key seemed to go over fairly well, and the manager asked me if I would be available to play for some of their events. Whaddya think I said <grin>?

So I'll be playing at the Pacific Bay Coffee Co., 1495 Newell Ave., in Walnut Creek ( http://www.pacificbaycoffee.com/index.html ) on Saturday, September 17, from 2 to 4 PM. I'll be providing music for a "Meet the Artist" event featuring photographer James Kirkpatrick.

Also on Sunday, November 23, I'll play from 10:00 AM to Noon and the music will be the main attraction, besides the delightful roasted-on-premises coffees, of course.

I'll be donating all my tips at both events to the Katrina relief effort. I hope some of the AGFers in the Diablo Valley and around the SF Bay Area will be able to join me.

Thanks Chris, thanks Brandt, seeing you guys made me feel right at home.

These two jokers, plus Steve, collected almost $2000 last weekend at two gigs which they donated for Katrina relief through Brandt's company which DOUBLE MATCHED their contribution to wind up sending about $6K.

Ummmm, I was able to collect $42. Is it really really true that every little bit helps?
