Is that right? This would be number 6? I know we've done 2 in Dallas, 2 at Lake Houston, and 1 in San Antonio.
OK, I've had several requests to get the Dallas Get Together scheduled. I'm thinking may sometime in September.

Of course preference in date will be given to Steve and Jeffrey since we are the only 3 who have made it to each get together! :D

I will check with Pugsleys Library (of course I will scout the current stock of short skirts ;) ) and see if I can get the same deal that I had last time.

The cost will be between $10-$20 per person for the use of Pugsleys. For those who do not recall Pugsleys is a nice sports bar/restaurant. We had 3 rooms, 2 acoustic and 1 electric. I am confident I will also get some participation from Anderson Guitar Gallery, what level I am not sure.

Here is a review from one of the Dallas Magazines on Pugsleys Library. The only comment I would make is the “Loud Music” is not a factor in the rooms we are in, for that matter anywhere else.

In Short
This giant space (a former movie theater) with tall ceilings doesn't feel impersonal; brick columns separate the bar's different areas. There's a wall of darts, almost 50 pool, shuffleboard and foosball tables, plus an elevated seating area and two bars. Loud music blasts while football, baseball and other sports play on the 15-foot TVs, all while short-plaid-skirt-wearing waitresses serve drinks and standard fare, including baked ziti, fajita salad, wings and burgers.

I have also had a request to invite some of the guys from the Fender Forum.

So let’s start the discussion!

pug's would be neat. I'll be *trying to find a way to come - but as always, something tends to come up. I'll be checking the updates here and let you know.

if pugsley's has abandoned the naughty catholic schoolgirl theme we're boycotting!

I could not agree more! I'll see if I can get my "favorite" waitress to work the party. I will keep in mind the Collings gathering, maybe we need to do the first of October?

I'll have to check my very busy ;) schedule. I know that the first weekend in September is the Hill Country Rendezvous (for MINIacs) in Fredricksburg. So let me look and I'll post after that.

The RMMGA TX-6 Gathering is in the middle of October. Early October would probably be good for an AGF gathering.

I'll try to make it, but late Sept or early October works best for me.

I checked out a Texas calendar of events for September and October (www.tourtexas.com). A few other happenings that could cause some conflicts/or opportunities are:
09-3 Labor Day Blues Fest in Bedford
09-10 Pickin and Peddlin Bluegrass Festival in Houston
10-08 Texas-OU Weekend in Dallas
10-14 Texas Jazz Fest in Corpus Christi
10-29 Beaumont Blues Fest in Beaumont

Any time is usually good with me, just give me a heads up. :)

I'll be going to Arlington again for the guitar show in mid October either way. :D

Pugsley's was really cool I thought, neat place for sure.

Should we shoot for the same weekend as the Guitar show? Do you think it would help or hurt attendance?

None of the events listed will make any difference, one way or the other, for me.

Y'all pick the date and I'll try to make it.

Aw man! I'll be in Grapevine the first two weeks in August...not September! :(

But if anyone wants to get together anytime August 6-12, I'm all up for it. :) I'll be at a meeting the 1st through 6th at the Gaylord.

There is a great open mic in Grapevine "The Backporch", it should not be to far from the Gaylord!

Just about any weekend would work for me.

Still looking. My biggest problem is that our company has a big bid ($70 million contract) which will come out sometime in August and due sometime in September. And, I won;t know when the RFQ will come out, really, until it comes out. From the date it comes out we get 30 days to respond with our proposal. So, therein lies the problem.

In fact, this proposal has cancelled my vacation to Hawaii, which my wife and I planned for the first week in September.

So, in summary, I am unsure, and I won't know for probably a month or more. Um, so I guess Chris, you should set whatever date works for others and I will do my best to work my schedule to get there.

The open mic in Grapevine is less than 5 minutes from the Gaylord. That week could also be the monthly acoustic circle for August at Andersons in Frisco.

By the way, I'm up for a get together, and I'm flexible on the date.

I'd come but I may be in Florida the first week in Sept, or the second, or the third.. It's hard to say(breeding a dog).. And the end of October I'll probably be in GA. But I'd love to come, especially if it was during the Guitar show.

No, there was a chance I was moving to Nashville but that looks like it is not going to happen. I'll get this going later next week once I have a better idea of what my schedule looks like.

I'd say at the soonest it would be late September or October, most likley not during the guitar show because several people who want to come have to work the show.

Hey if anyone needs a place to hold it, I've got ten acres of Wimberley fun! ...I promise I'll even 'cage' the pony, the ducks, the dogs AND the chickens! ...But no promises on the five cats.

I think this next one will be "up North" as the last one was in Houston "down South". ;)

I promise I will get it scheduled; I'm still negotiating with a new firm. I hope to have all that wrapped up by the end of the week or first part of next week. I'm just not sure what my schedule is.

We will have it at Pugsleys or at a Community Center in Frisco, just not sure of a date yet.

Hey everyone!

...Logged-in too, Cotten! (((smile)))

Cheryl and I would welcome a roadtrip up north...we have most weekends free, and with advance notice could probably make the trip. BTW--the Collings forum is scheduled late Sept. or Oct. I believe.

Really enjoyed the last (our first) AGF get-together at Lake Houston...you guys are great!

Keep us posted.

Happily,
Nate

If October, then the only weekend I am not already booked with something to do is October 29-30. If September, I can make it 9/10 or 9/17. I know we will be working a big bid at work sometime in September, but the later in September the less likely I'll be able to make it.

OK, guys I start the new job on Monday so I'll pick a date later this week. I just want to make sure I don't have any conflicts.

I'll probably shoot for October.

As long as I don't have a gig that weekend, I'll be there for sure! I always am. :DSpeaking of gigs, I have one at Fralos, a pizza place north of San Antonio in Leon Springs. I am playing there with my buddy Don on Aug 28th (that's a Sunday) at 7:30pm until about 9:30pm. Its a very cool venue. Hopefully we won't be too awful

If you can make it, come on down.
