...and what in the heck is wrong with the backpacker? Didn't it come from you? It actually belongs to my 9 year old.

You'll know I'm broke when you see the JDCM up for sale! :D

<del> means i deleted some of your original text in the quote

[g] or <g> means grin or smiley.

you have to remember i'm a computer caveman. i grew up without all those fancy green balloons. dadburn it youngster, we had to walk 5 miles though the sandburrs and rattlesnake dens to get to the computer hauling a 110baud modem.

Why don't you get off your lazy butt and venture over to Frisco on Thursday?

i'd have to take a vacation day since i work nights (i'm working now--how do you think i have time to post all this every evening?) and i'm saving my vacation for the collings gathering in austin the end of october. they've got seminars and tours lined up and i might actually learn a lick or two.

So what is this circle? I'll be in DFW in August for an annual meeting and will be staying an extra week. I'd love to meet some of the forumites from TX. I'll be free Aug. 7-11 with nothing planned. Let me know if you guys plan something or want to plan a gathering. I'm all for it!!!!

The acoustic circle is held at Anderson Guitar Gallery (http://www.andersonguitargallery.com) in Frisco (north of Dallas), typically on the 2nd Thursday of the month; we gather about 6:30 PM and start playing at 7:00. For August, that would be the 11th. Usually, about 15-20 people show up, of varying skill levels. It's pretty much an anything goes, go-around-the-circle, play/sing something and jam along. It's great fun, and Steve and Jen are great hosts. Very casual. I can't say enough good things about the Guitar Gallery. It's about the only store of its kind in DFW, some great guitars for sale that you can't get anywhere else in this area.

If you can stay in on Friday the 12th, I host an acoustic open mic @ Irving's Knights of Columbus Hall most Friday evenings...

i meant to call and ask, but i let the time slip away.

perhaps someone can call tomorrow and confirm.

i looked at the location map and that's way further than i'd want to drive even though i am off work tomorrow.
