Mini gathering

As a warm up to the SF Bay Area Open Mic on May 6th, five local AGF members got together at our house Sunday afternoon. Chris brought his PA for a test run and we sat around and played some tunes for a couple of hours.

In attendance: guyute, david_m, classicalman, mellowman and O2B Nugent.

We also had a special appearance by Dave Matthews and John Mayer who stopped by and performed a couple of tunes. ..."personal friends of mine"

The vocal impressions by Chris Estes "Guyute" is uncanny.

We also got a preview of David Moore's upcoming CD - a definate must OWN!

All great players and singers (not me) and it was fun finally meeting Chris and David, live!

Curses! My secret identity has been revealed :ha:

It was great to finally meet everyone and I'm still having vivid dreams of David's Alberico....sorry about any drool I may have gotten on her ;)

Now I'm completely pumped for the show on the 6th! Now if I could only learn to play some fingerstyle stuff in the space of a few weeks!

Classicalman and Mellowman played a few duets that were OUTSTANDING. Plus, the guitars were nice to look at (SCGC OM/PW and a gorgeous OMv-28).

Guyute does the best Dave Matthews impersonation ever. He played a couple DMB tunes, and if you closed your eyes you'd think it was a DMB concert. I didn't get to hear the John Mayer (I got there late), but I'm sure it was accurate. He also displayed the "unbreakable" Taylor 410.

Because I got there late I was able to say hello to O2bNugent, then I got to say goodbye.

All in all it was a great way to spend a Sunday.

He's just like Ted Nugent, too! Well, except he's not mean. Oh, and he doesn't have long hair. And I don't think I saw him carrying a compound bow either.

Come to think of it, he's almost nothing like Nugent ;)

BTW, I hope we see you at the next gathering Chris!
