SATURDAY, APRIL 9th
MD/VA/DC Gathering and CD Release Party!

Just in case you missed the previous announcement . . .

I will be hosting a get-together at my home--near Solomons, MD--on Saturday, April 9th. Directions and more info can be found here (http://jimtozier.tripod.com/JT/AGF.html).

Barring any last-minute setback, my new CDs (http://jimtozier.tripod.com/JT/discography.html) will be arriving just a couple of days before, so it'll also be a CD release party of sorts. :)

Most of the day will be just hanging out and socializing, with plenty of guitar playing--very casual and informal. I'll provide pizzas for lunch, and then we'll plan on eating dinner at one of the local Solomons restaurants.

Please let me know if you are planning to attend, and I will try to keep an updated list of who's coming.

Probable attendees, as of 4/8:

Jim Tozier
Jennifer (jmeinel)
Bill (CaptBill)
John (Cakes)
Mark (MEH)
Jim (jim_n-virginia)
Bobby (cocobolo_guy)
Wes (Chiba)
Paul (JedimasterPaul)
Aaron (one of Jim's guitar students)
Paul (one of Jim's guitar students)
Greg (vocalist from Jim's old band)
Duane (bassist from Jim's old band)

C'mon folks. Let's get some buzz going. Jim, looks like my Saturday morning plans will end earlier than I anticipated so I won't be as late as I thought. Should be there by 1 at the latest.

p.s. I have a new guitar and have never changed strings before. If I bring a set along would somebody be able to walk me through the process?

Sure, Mark! I may even have an extra set of Dean Markley Alchemys, if you'd be interested in trying them. ;)

I'm still in the running - it all depends on how many papers I can get graded tonight and how long my morning tasks (in Centreville) take.

If I *do* make it, though, I'll be bringing the only acoustic I have with me right now - the 000-16SGT slothead!!

:)

Looks like I will not be able to make it. I've got a soccer game for my son at noon, and then I will be working on my kitchen after that. Hope you all have a great time.

Just heard from a couple of former bandmates . . . Greg (singer) and Duane (bassist) from my old band, "Shiver," will be joining us. Greg's one heck of a harmony singer, and I'm sure he'll be more than happy to sing along with anyone who wants to cover up any vocal limitations (like me). :)

rrg! jim & co. I will miss you guys a lot but I have too much code to finish by monday. I have got to cancel. I wish you all the best, and hope to hear good things about the meet-up! :( Jim, I will be in touch to buy a copy of your newest release. I will be dreaming of playing Cakes's 12-string all day. Again, sincerest apoloogies for a crappy late cancellation but I've got to get too much work done.

I had a great time, and it was a pleasure to meet and play guitar with everyone.

Thanks Jim hosting this and for allowing me to bring along my son - he did have fun playing with your kids - so much fun that he was asleep before I had gone 5 miles north on Rt4.
