Public Open Mic Hot Spots (Bay Area, CA)

With my ever so increasing interest in open mic-ing,

I've failed to find any open mic places around the Bay Area... am I just a really big noobie (i am, really)? or are there really potentially none in this area?

Help out please!

Espresso Garden & Cafe (http://www.espresso-garden.com/cal.html) has an open mic every Thursday at 6:45. I've seen some good shows there, but never made it out to open mic night.

Go to the Fender Guitar Forum and type 6L6 in the Search box. He plays a lot of open mic venues and gives a review of each. They range from downtown SF to Pacifica/Half Moon Bay.

Freight and Salvage in Berkeley used to have an open mic. You might check out their website.

Obviously, "the Bay Area" is a large place. What part of the area are you thinking?

And as classicalman pointed out, May 6th is gonna be the best open mic Walnut Creek's ever seen :)
