To all the "locals," and to anyone who might be crazy enough to drive from points beyond . . .

I'm checking to see if there's any interest in having a get-together at my house--near Solomons, MD--on Saturday, April 9th, starting at 10am (or whenever you can get here). Nothing fancy or planned out in advance--it'd just be a bunch of us sitting around socializing and playing our guitars. Pizzas for lunch, then maybe dinner at one of the restaurants nearby before everyone heads home.

I'm also hoping that my new CDs will be here by then, and it would be nice to have a few friends and forumites to celebrate with. ;)

Update: I put up a page on my website (http://jimtozier.tripod.com/JT/AGF.html) with all the pertinent information. I'll add a list of attendees soon . . .

Just tell me what day and how to get there.

I would be there but it's just too far to travel.

Maybe if Tim B will be there or if Jennifer agrees to play a guitar.

All systems go for me, Jim. Unless something comes up (unlikely), I'll be there. Sounds like fun.

Man, I would love to come, but you picked about the absolute worst possible day (opening day of Little League and my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary party). ****. Wish I could be there. :(

Bummer. I'd love to have you come, too. I had to go with April 9th because that might be the only Saturday I have open until summer. ;)

I'm sure somebody would be willing to pick you up on the way. :D

Well, we know Jennifer won't play--so that means it's up to Tim! ;)

I might be interested in going. I am pretty new to this forum (as well as new to playing the guitar) and I think it'd be nice to meet some people. I just moved to Annapolis not long ago--how far are you from there?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark! First off, welcome to the Forum! I think you're going to like it here. :)

Solomons is a little more than an hour's drive south (on Rt. 2) from Annapolis. We'd love to have you join us!

And don't worry about being new . . . we're a friendly bunch! :)

If you didn't see the update in my original post, I've added an Info Page (http://jimtozier.tripod.com/JT/AGF.html) to my website.

Put me as a maybe Jim, I have to drive my Dad to Illinois sometime in April because his eyesight is so bad now. I missed the last get together so I really would like to get to this one. I gotta get up with my dad and see when he wants to leave.

Can't make it, unfortunately Saturdays just don't work for me. Sundays are a little easier...sometimes.

As far as the Cap'n is concerned, Jennifer the ball is in your court!!!

Good luck with the CD release Jimbo!!!!! :)

Hey!!!! That is not ALWAYS true...just most of the time. ;) I've played at gatherings. I just don't play in front of Bill just because he wants me to play so badly. Too much pressure. :p hehehe

Things are looking pretty good at this point that I should be able to make it down. I'd love to meet some of the people on the Forum.

Thanks,
Mark

Sound like a great time. Put me down as a "maybe" with a more certain answer as the date approaches.

I'm looking forward to your new CD... I actually brought "CASTLEREA" into the office today for my listening pleasure... great music! :)

I have not been active much but I am still here. I would like to come but refinishing my kitchen and dinning room, and son's soccer will most likely get in the way.

Yeah, whatever, Russ. I suppose next you'll be telling us you can't come because you're in Germany or something. :D

John, the "Bobalouie" Russ is in Germany. This Russ actually does live in Southern Maryland. ;)

Russ--good to hear from you! I'd love it if you could make it, but believe me, I know how busy weekends can be--especially with little ones around the house. :)

btw, I'll be playing at the library again this year (6/21)--and since you know which libarary this time, just let me know if you want to grab a drink (and maybe dinner) after the show again. It would be nice to catch up a bit.

hey Jim and everybody, I am about 80% sure that I will be able to make it at this point. I really hope so! I'll update once we solidify our plans for the coming weeks.

Thanks John, it's nice to be remembered! Actually, I was hoping my travel schedule would support attending Jim's "coming out" party, but unfortunately, I WILL be in Germany then! ;)

By the way, this makes 3 Russ' we have on the AGF! :D

Russ, I remember meeting you at Jim's last time. I really like the cherry burst 614CE. I say bring any and all guitars.

I might have a partial conflict for the first part of the day, but I should at a minimum arrive late. Better late than never. :)
