I attended my first de Grassi Guitar Summer Workshop back in 98, went 4 years in a row and then Alex asked me to come as teacher's aid (meaning I hang-out, jam, show-off my harp guitar and help others with my insights on Alex's technique). I'm posting this because I really believe in sharing this with all of you (it changed my confidence and gave me sooo much inspiration). Also because I know Alex offers way more than your $'s worth over the 3 days, and that's not always true in the workshop world these days.

What's it like? You spend a weekend in the trees just outside of Santa Cruz, CA with Alex and a few other guitarists. Alex keeps the number of students down to 10 or less to make sure you get individual attention from the legend of fingerstyle. He covers string stopping, arrangement for fingerstyle, several of his pieces, gives you transcriptions, comments on your performances throughout the weekend, jams at night with everyone. It's a rare opportunity and a great deal. Enough info? If not, ping Alex himself at info@degrassi.com and ask your questions.
It's going to sell-out, as usual. Make your plans. I've made lots of friends at these workshops including Kaki King, Marc Dorsa and many others. Best wishes.
