April 16th Texas-Houston Get Together - GOLF?

I was trading emails with Guy and I had an idea to play a little golf the Saturday morning before the get together.

I'll drive in Friday night and stay in South Houston on the Gulf Freeway. Anybody want to join a 4some?

We could tee of by 8:00 and be done in plenty of time?

With respect to "What Course".

I'll do some research and see if I can find us a deal. Most likley the courses will not book tee times more than a couple weeks in advance. I will check and see what is close to the lake.

I need to know a budget. It does not matter to me, we can do the $60-$70 range or I can try and find the $30-40$ range, weekends will not be "cheap".

If we can get 8 players we might get a slight break.

This will be a one-time type thing, well for the guitar folks to play, so let's go for something better than 'cheap' if others agree. There's a killer course called Magnolia Creek. I've played it once. It is 27 holes, England nine, Scottland nine, and another nine, can't remember what it is. Don't know the cost cause we got some special twilight coupon. It's an incredible course. Extremely difficult. It has pot bunkers, and the works. Just a thought. I can help you research if you'd like. Let me know.

aggie, lets see what the others have to say. I somewhat agree I don't want to play a goat ranch but I don't want to have someone miss out if they can't afford $75 but they can afford $50.

Some will also have to spring for a room. I won't since I have family in Houston.

I could be in for golf. I used to live in Houston and have played a number of courses there. If you want ideas let me know, or I'll be happy to just tag along. I think I can keep up better in golf than guitar playing with most of this group.
