Ok, I'd like to get a head count of who is coming. As I metioned in the other thread we have a hall booked from 11-5 on Saturday and then we will go out to dinner. So if you are coming please say so here so I can get a better idea of who to expect.

We'll have fun!

Count me IN.
I have an archery tournament that weekend, but they can live without me for a day.
I'll bring a Goody for Todd, any other requests?
BTW, if we go out to eat later, does that mean the geetars will be stuck in the cars?

I never leave my guitar in the car so I'll say a definite no to that one. We'll figure it out, even if we have to take them in with us...it wouldn't be the first time I did that.

Glad you're coming!!! :D

Shepherd of the Woods church on Southside Blvd that has agreed to let us use their fellowship hall. I'll post more specifics as the event gets closer.

Is after 12PM better for everyone?

I'll confirm my silence on the other FL meeting thread by saying I can't make this one. poo. Just bad timing for me; no work up there I can schedule in, & it's the weekend after a large event I help produce locally, so the following weekend is just not good, as I spend it w/ the family / laze on the couch. Geez that sounds lame  but it's the truth ...

Have fun y'all, and post some info afterwards... & to think I was all set to win the FL division of the Most Beat Up Expensive Guitar competition :D

I totally understand and respect family commitments as well as "couch time". Maybe next time!

Rick.....that is a VERY kind gesture, but you don't have to do that!! I will be there probably more like 1pm though, it'll be great to get together and find out how bad my playing is compared to some of you (LOL) I have always been a singer who happens to play guitar (entertainer and not a musician in the purest sense) Very kind of the church to let us use their facility....

You'll be in good company, Todd. I am a singer who happens to hack. :)

Darn! I sure wish it was the weekend before.

Have fun and post pics!

Lisa, if this is something you want to do every year, check out Martin Luther King Day weekend. That is a 3 day weekend for us (I don't know about others, but it is a school holiday in Illinois and Missouri) and my wife can usually take an extra day. It works great for us to get to Florida for that time frame. Just a thought.

Todd,
I have to bring a guitar for me don't I?
And your choices right now are Collings or Goodall.
So, I'll bring one of each, how's that?

I'm really going to try and make this, along with my wife. (If thats ok.) :)
Its just a question of whether or not the Navy sends me out of town that weekend. I never know in advance.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to bring my guitar. I'm having this little ski slope repaired:

But I'd love to see others jam. Its just the kind of thing that I think will help motivate me to practice harder.

You'll have to find out and decide for yourself!
I suppose I better put some fresh strings on it first.

Todd, thanks for the nudge. I've been doing that kind of busy thing where it seems like you never have any time but don't really seem to get a whole lot done. (Does that ever end???)
I'll be there Lisa, looking forward to it. I can bring Jim Tozier's old Avalon if anyone needs a guitar to play. I'll have my little 000 with me too. :)

ArtieArtie, Absolutely bring your wife, she is more than welcome! :)

As for your ski slope (so sorry about that one) I can bring another guitar for you to play. We can't have you just standing around listening to the rest of us. ;)

Rick and Unk, it is sweet of you to offer to bring extras too. Pretty cool that I'll get to see Jim's guitar again since I got to hear it in Monroe.

Unk, belljs, Artie,Todd and Rick...looking forward to it and I know we'll have a blast!

. . . I can bring another guitar for you to play.

After you hear me play . . . you may regret that. :D

Actually, along with meeting some folks, standing around picking up some "pointers" is exactly what I'm hoping to do. I'm a rank amatuer, and I really need some help in developing a picking style. (Amongst other things.)

This will be fun!
