******ANNOUNCEMENT****** Anyone who reads this is welcome to attend. See the Northern VA Party thread below.

I posted this on another thread, but wanted to make sure everyone sees this....

Saturday, February 5:

Attention everyone. I have some (hopefully) exciting news. This year, the doors (to my house) open around 10 AM (or whenever you can get there) We'll hang out, eat, play guitars, fellowship, etc.

BUT....in the evening, we'll all be going to El Agave, a small Mexican restaurant in Warrenton (4PM to 7PM). We'll have our own little room and will be able to order dinner. I will be bringing a Bose Personal Amplification system for Open Mic time. I just worked out the deal with the restaurant manager. I wasn't able to secure anything later in the evening, so it won't be as late of a night as I had previously thought, but this might work out better for folks who have a long drive home. And anyone who wants more hang time is free to come back to my place after din din/open mic.

The food and service is great and I think we'll have a good time. Hope y'all can make it!

I'm borrowing the idea from Mr. Crider. I hope everyone likes the sound of this. No real program during the day, though. Can't wait!

John

John,
Looks like it's going to be a great time. I'm planning on being there unless I get a call to work. Happy Holidays!

Third Century AD :D :D

John - even if I had a time machine, I unfortunately can't make it as I have another committment. But to visit the 3rd century AD would be very interesting, although it was a time of crisis in the Roman Empire. :)

oh wait, did you mean 3rd Millenium AD? :D or did some other joke go sailing over my head...

Great news, Kev! And great JediMaster, thanks for the correction. Third Millenium indeed. Joke's on me

John,

I'd love to come up to the get together on 2/5. Can you please send me more info (specifically where?).

I just ordered a 1999 914C that should be in well before that date.

Thanks

Joe

How far is that from Fairfax City.

30 to 45 minutes from Fairfax, depending on traffic which should be light on a Saturday. Shoot out 66 west past Manassas. Jump on Route 29 South in Gainesville and proceed 12 miles. You're pretty much there. Used to live in Fairfax. Hope you can make it.

Yes, I'm still coming John. I've been off the radar because I've been scrambling to try and find an internship. I really want to graduate in May and can't without an internship. And I've been stressing about how to earn some money at the same time since my last day at my job was 12/31. Stress...stress...stress...the joys of a final semester in school. :D

Adam...Cakes house isn't that far of a drive at all. I've gone to a couple of these at his house and it's a quicker drive than you think. Definitely worth it. Hope to see you there!

My attendance just got very tentative. So that I get to be off next Christmas and New Year (unlike this year), my odd work schedule has been moved by a week so that now I have to work Feb. 6th. In addition, there are a couple of family events that I simply can't miss if they happen around that time - on one of them I'm one of the architects, so it would kind of be like Cakes putting his gathering together and then not showing up.

John, I'm PMing you with more details. I'll still come if I can, but at this point it's pretty hard to say for sure. If I can't, I'm bound and determined to make the next one!

Eh? What's that sigh of relief I hear? :D :D :D

Thanks,

Wade

Cakes,

Still looks good for me to be there. Anyone have any requests for stuff from Germany? If I have the time, and room in my bag, I may bring over some German wine.

See you all in a few weeks!
