View Full Version : T-SHIRTS?

I know there has been some discussion about registration fees, in part, going towards a commorative t-shirt, and I think that's a great idea. But, has there been any thought given to a design for that shirt?
This may not be a bad time to bring it up, as the development of a design, finalizing it, perhaps even voting on it could take some time, not to mention the actual printing of it and making sure they show up in San Diego when they're supposed to.
If a design already hasn't been adopted, would having a contest be feasible? The winning designer could win fabulous cash and prizes. Okay, maybe just the admiration and adoration of Taylorstock attendees.
Designs could be submitted, posted on a website, and the membership could vote in a poll here on the forum. I dunno'; just an idea.
T-shirts comprise a large segment of my wardrobe, and I may well have the largest collection of guitar related t-shirts in the western hemisphere, so I have a keen interest in this.
Anyway, whatch'all think?

Perhaps the t-shirts could also be made available for purchase for those of you who cannot attend. It might help with the blues of not being able to go. Just an idea....

NOPE! :D T-Shirts for attendees only! NEENER NEENER NEENER!!!
j/k
I dunno though, it seems that even if I was blue about not being able to go, I wouldnt buy one. Sorta like getting a souvenier from a place youve never been...
Someone could design a forum t-shirt...but as for Taylorstock, I'd only buy one if i went...
Having said this, I think if there is no design in the works, a contest would be fun (kinda reminds me of the homecoming tshirt contests in high school...)
Too bad I am not artistic enough to come up with something that even a blind dog would wear.

Okay! Here's the deal on the shirts. We're ready to rock and roll... we just need artwork. Anybody got any ideas for a design? I want to make this a nice T-shirt that you wouldn't mind wearing after the event.... kind of like a nice Taylor T-shirt.
Yet again, Taylor has really helped us out, allowing us to use the same supplier that they use for Taylorware, and the supplier is giving us a great deal on the shirts. I'm going to go with a Natural colored shirt like this one:
http://www.taylorguitars.com/taylorware/pix/tw157.jpg
We are allowed two colors and can have artwork in two places on the shirt - like on the left breast and on the back, etc.
IDEAS???
Unfortunately, I probably will not be able to make these shirts available for people who don't attend the event, for some reasons I wont go into on the public forum. If there are a few left over, I might have a contest or something, but that would be it.

Allright, J.R. I've already got my design done. Where do I send it?
webmaster@taylorguitarforum.com
-or-
webmaster@taylorforum.com
By the way, I can't remember which one I sent my liner notes for the TGF CD to. Did you ever get them?
ONLY TWO COLORS? I'll do some simplifying..........

Hi, Mike! Use webmaster@taylorforum.com - the other one doesn't work.
BTW: I don't recall getting the liner notes. Maybe you sent it to the other address?
Thanks!

I tend to like shirts that aren't that flashy. I don't want us to look like a bunch of fifth graders on a field trip. The natural color is a great idea. My preference is a small logo pattern over the upper left chest and a tasteful design on the back. I really don't care what the design is (I'm sure it would be guitar related) but I think the date and name of event are a must when it comes to getting a commemorative t-shirt. Putting together a shirt that everyone will like is a losing proposition. I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE. So Good luck.:)
Thanks in advance for your effort.
I would be willing to foot the extra cost for polo shirts if they were available. A simple logo on the upper left chest is easier to design and is ususally very popular. I also have a
t-shirt/poloshirt designer in San Diego that will give us a deal. I would be glad to contact him if you would like to compare prices.
my two cents
Cheers
Chris
