Standard disclaimer - everything subject to change.

Talked with Taylor today about a few of the questions that were brought up.

Hotel
Not sure why some people are getting a choice on their room and others aren't. They're going to talk to the hotel to find out what the deal is. However, Taylor said that the hotel isn't huge - it's probably not a big issue where your room is located.

Wood
If you want to pick out a set of Ovangkol for a standard 414CE, you can do that. If you want a bunch of custom inlay, they will do that, too - at custom shop prices. However, Taylor says that if you want to bring your own artwork for inlay, they'll put it on the guitar for you. That's cool! You're not limited to the standard inlay options. Basically, be thinking of how you want your guitar to be built. They're ready to handle whatever you want within reason. This is going to be really cool. I'm working on getting a price list for the options.

Bus
There will be a bus available on Saturday for those who want to go back to the hotel after the wood event, and those that just want to come to the performances on Saturday night and don't want to go to the wood event - i.e. all the spouses :)

Registration
As I've stated before, we're approaching the registration phase. Once I have all the details, there will be a non-refundable per-person registration charge. This charge covers some of the costs associated with this event including the bus service, t-shirts, etc. It is not optional. Even if you're going to drive to the event, you'll still have to be registered. Sorry about that. We're trying to make this as un-complicated as possible. The registration fee will definitely be kept to a minimum.

I do hope that the T-shirts in question WILL include 3XL AND 4XL??

Well...if Taylor is smart they will have us register and pay and with our registration have us say what size shirt we want. But I'm sure since you just let JR know what size you wanted he can talk to Taylor about getting that size available for you and anyone else. If anything, the 3x and 4x will cost a small amount more.

I can see it now- a Ryan inlay 914ce...

it will have no 3,5,7, and 9 fret inlays, but then at the 12th -15th fret where the Cindy pattern is at its best, there will be a big inlay of my gleaming smiling mug :ha: hair of ebony outlined in thin agoya shell, skin of maple, eyes and eyebrows of rosewood, lips of cocobolo, and teeth of abalone!

Bet it could fetch 80 bucks on eBay if I ever decided to sell it

Captain Bill is now registered! Now the party begins!

Jennifer, good point. I'll make sure to take a poll and find out how many of what size we'll need.

Once the amount of the registration fee is determined, will we send it off somewhere, or will we pay the registration fee whence we all get together in San Diego?

Also, my guest will be attending the whole shabang, and will more than likely want a t-shirt. Safe to assume that he'll have to pony-up, as well, I'd imagine...

Thanks, J.R. I'm already registered that way, but in your first post above you said "we're approaching the registration phase," which I took to mean sending in the registration fee. Since the fee hasn't been set, I couldn't see how that could happen unless I missed something. That's all I was getting at. Thanks again.

Hopefully as little as possible for us poor folk on here. Some of us don't have any money at the momment (me), so I'm hoping that it is as small a fee as can be and that it's not due right away. I need to earn my money for the trip first.

Well
I am driving down, so I dont need a shuttle, I know Taylor doesnt and wont sell shirts or clothing in larger sizes, so Im not holding my breath on the T-shirt issue either...so I too hope its not going to cost me an arm or leg, UNLESS of coarse there is a fine 610ce as a raffle prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or maybe 2!!! it is time to think about next years write offs ya know.

Sorry, Chris. Maybe I should use some different terms. I've been collecting all the names for pre-registration. Now, we're entering the "confirmation" phase. There will be a small registration fee, which you'll pay and you'll be locked in, set in stone, done, finished. Then all you need to do is show up to the event. Of course you can still drop out after that if you need to. We need to get everyone who is serious about the event "confirmed", so we will know how many spaces are available. We have to keep this to around 100 people, so I'll create a waitlist once we reach 100, if additional people want to come. As people drop out, I'll pull from the top of the waitlist, etc.

Any updates for us JR??? I'm really hoping Taylor can give you some kind of price list on the options. As of now I'm planning a guitar out of the regular series and choosing the specific options I want if I got a Custom Shop guitar(nothing too fancy). Since I don't know how outrageous the prices are going to be I'm preparing for both. What I'm also wondering about is if for Taylorstock they are going to set some kind of special pricing (a more reasonable price) for custom guitars if we ordered one or if it's the same price as if any regular person ordered one. Maybe you can ask Taylor about this. For example, I know Ryan is dying for a 914c with a Cindy inlay....would Taylor not charge him an arm and a leg to change inlays since the Cindy inlay is already programed in their computers? As it stands right now this would be a Custom Shop guitar and would cost a ridiculous amount of money. This is the kind of custom guitar I'm talking about....nothing fancy. Please find out for those of us who are planning on purchasing a guitar so we can choose our own wood. Thanks.

Jennifer :D

P.S. This is an added part:

I just wrote down exactly what I would want from the Custom Shop if the prices were reasonable. Everything I would want is on the current guitars with the exeption of the Cindy Inlay. The guitar as a whole is a mix of a few different series. If it was priced similar to what their regular line is priced at (retail) I could afford it. If it was the current Custom Shop prices it would easily be two to three times as much (retail). That is why I was asking the above questions about reasonable Custom Shop pricing. If you want to give Taylor an example then I'll be happy to email you the specifics of what I want. Like I said...nothing complicated.
