hi folks at AGF!
We're here at the 2nd Annual Acoustic Guitar Cruise in the Carribean and having a great time. more of you really should think about this next year. I heard many people here on the forum voice there concern that they weren't good enough players to be here, but trust me - that is not an issue. we have all levels of players from people who have played a guitar 2 times, to people who have played for many years. Lots of great folks here. I see our fellow AGFer daily (Dave Sewell) and of course our resident instructors are great. This year we have David Hamburger (teaching blue grass, rag, fingerstyle, slide), Happy Traum (fingerstyle, blues), Scott Nygard (editor of Acoustic Guitar Mag, teaching jazz, swing, other stuff), Wendy Waldman (fingerstyle, voice, writing), Peppino d'Agostino (fingerstyle, composing), David Lusterman (publisher, Acoustic Guitar Mag, teaching intro guitar), and of course, Bob Taylor (teaching everything you'd want to know about guitar construction, etc). I don't think i've forgotten anyone.

bob and i were on the same flight from houston and we talked for a few min prior to boarding our plane in Houston as well as after we landed. He's brought a short scale 710c(e, i assume) which he intends to give away while we're here. wish me luck :-) bob is doing great and everyone is glad he's here.

Next cruise is next July, and we're going to Alaska, which means on THAT cruise i won't have to fly anywhere :-) Really do consider going. It is a blast. we had today filled w/some guitar events but also had a great day ashore at the Half Moon Cay; i went diving. Pretty fish down there.

Tomorrow it's all day at sea and then on Tuesday we arrive in Tortola for more onshore activities. Tomorrow at sea will be filled with about 12 hrs of guitar events, many instructions, etc, and I hope to sequester David Hamburger to give me some private lessons on the dobro, seeing as it appears that i'm the ONLY one who brought a dobro to this thing; that and my 914ce-LTD-L1.

Anyway, more updates later and i'll try to get some pictures for y'all.

Later.

Sounds so cool, Dennis! I wish I could get some dobro lessons too since we got to hear some killer dobro music this weekend at Monroe. Good luck and enjoy the rest of your cruise, we'll expect pictures when you get home. :)
