Awesome photos Rick.
Definitely the best one I've seen of Jim and his three capo magic yet.

I posted some photos in the gallery this afternoon. Rick, thanks for your hard work. It paid off. I had a blast. Also thanks to Holloway's. They worked so hard all day long to make it an enjoyable event and they were extremely successful! I enjoyed meeting/greeting all of you, some for the first time. As others have said, (in so many words) nice guitars are nice, but nice people are nicer. Know what I mean?

Ric Crider-- Thank You
Marion Holloway (and staff)-- Thank You
Jim Tozier-- Thank You
MSIV Friends and Open Mic(ers)-- Thank You
It was just a terrific way to spend a Saturday in the fall. I really enjoyed meeting each and everyone of you. I suspect the best way to say thanks is to make sure and support our sponsors-- Holloway's Music has always been tops.. now, Dean Markley joins my group of favorites I will consciously support.
Can't wait for MSV.

Hey, Paul! Wonderful to meet you! Really loved your Open Mic... and admire the courage to get up there for the first time ever (in case anyone didn't know...). And to get to play with Stan... what a great thing!
Heck, I admire anyone's courage. It's amazing how things can change inside in those last ten feet to the place behind the mic!
Keep on pickin',

Paul Cameron Hey Paul! It was really nice to finally meet you. I've seen you at past Monroestocks and it was good to see you and your son again this time. I'll be sure to bring my 654 again along with a capo so you can finally show me the correct way to play "Hotel California". hahaha!

That was the Eagles that did that song, Jen, in case you were wondering or hadn't heard of them. :D :D :D

That was the Eagles that did that song, Jen, in case you were wondering or hadn't heard of them. :D :D :D HAHAHA!!! Very funny Wade! I know the song. But what might make you laugh is that I had never heard of it until the Eagles redid it acoustically a few years ago. I had no clue who Don Henley or the Eagles even were before that.
Should I call 911 and get you an abulance for that heart attack you just had after reading that? hehehehe
Call one for me...I just fell over

Hey folks ....
I'm slowly adding a couple of pics and modifying others .... they'll be at the bottom of the page ....
The ones you see with graphics, text, etc, I'm preparing for promo use for next year, assuming we'll have one next year .
Plus, anyway, I get to play and learn more about PhotoShop .... which just blows me away. (I can do in seconds what took me *hours* to do with film, enlargers, chemicals, pans, sinks, etc, in my darkroom just a few years ago.)
Sorry for the large file sizes on some of them .... I'm keeping them that way intentionally for now .... I'll be saving them as templates for later use.
I've got *several* more to post and dabble with .... just thought you might wanta take an second peek if you haven't seen the changes and updates.
(**For dial-up users tempted to whine about download time, consider this: I'm on dial-up also .... it took just as much, if not more time to upload them .... I agree it's not a pleasant wait. Thanks for you patience though.**)

Bye.

Actually I was just looking at Rick's signature... and it seems to ask...
"Is now history?" Well, as soon as you can form the words to even ask, it is no longer "now", so it is in the past, so in a very strict sense, any discussion or even acknowledgement of "now" is history. :D
Okay, I need sleep.

Hey David, Have you had that motorcycle across the Golden Gate Bridge yet. I miss your playing around Raleigh. Mike
No motorcycle across the Golden Gate yet. The traffic here is a bit scary with regards to motorcycles. Thanks for asking, though. I do miss Raleigh.
Sorry I missed the fun in Monroe. All the photos make it at least bearable to be this far away.
Funny story............
I met this interesting person at the last Monroe Stock I attended (I believe it was II). I was sitting in the audience listening to the presentation (I'm not sure what the topic was), when I made a very quiet, smart-aleck response to the woman next to me. She immediately answered back with an even more smart-alecky response. I spent the rest of the afternoon talking with her and getting an appreciation for what a quick and dry wit she possesses. However, I couldn't get her to play anything for me. She just wouldn't consider playing inf front of anyone. The young lady in question was our own Lauren Coggins.
Imagine my surprise (and appreciation) when I saw photos of her performing!! Lauren, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

David Lauren actually played for us last year too. That is where we first heard her amazing voice. It's all Stan's fault! He has this way with getting his students to perform at the open mics. hahaha!

David--thanks! I'll have to drop you an email to elaborate--
Jennifer--yeah, but everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten how badly I flubbed what I *did* try last year. I know I'm not just imagining it in retrospect. ;)
Lauren
is was fun though, and I'd do it again...

flub, dub, blub, smub...
everyone who plays thinks
a) they sucked
b) everyone hated what they played
c) everyone thought they sucked....
but in reality, most of the applause comes from those who are still working up the courage to try......and they are impressed that any sound at all came out,
...and the rest comes from those of us who know firsthand that every performance has high and low spots.....
you shoulda heard Mr. Tozier working on this same riff (I'm gonna screw it up and everyone will know)....yeah, like that happened!
Stan (who is simply wonderful and amazing - what a blessing for you MS locals) said it best when he said what a pleasure it was to see all of the performers and the advances they have made. Here, here!

.... added a bit of explanatory text to some of the pics ....
and .... wrote a little 'short story' about Lauren.
I *still* have a few more pics to post. Even a few on a CF card that I've not even dumped to the HD yet .... sorry to be so slack in getting all of mine online. It'll get done though.
OK ... it's late. I'm pooped. I'm outa here. Goodnight all.
