I just wanted to send out a public "thank you" to Dennis and his family, and to everyone else who came to the gathering at his home yesterday. I wasn't there as long as most, but I had a great time and enjoyed finally putting faces with names.

Thanks! It was worth it...

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to seeing the pics.
We all had a great time.

We not only had acoustics we had electric jams and listened to some great hammer dulcimer sounds along with the soothing sounds of some guitars with a violin.

Marklyn did a great job of leading the band in some good ole folk songs and early rock that took me back a few years. :)

wait till the rest of you see the pics..... The guitar were worth almost as much as my house :D There was quite a collection of beautiful guitars.

We had plenty of food and a few even won a free massage!

I want to give a special thanks to Russ and Twyla. They were a great support
to us filling in some of the gaps to help make this a great time.

Chris (cpmusic) and Linda ... Thanks for sharing the cool instruments
JimC .... You missed the violin and Celtic sounds that started right after you left. (hey, hang onto that K14 it is a beautiful guitar.)
Ken and Tina .... It was great meeting you and keep up the great work with the kids. I'm really glad you made that long drive to be with us.

DrewM, Geoff (gdgross),Steve314, and Ryan (rsimper) glad you all were able to add your own influence to the gathering. I'd sure like to do it again.

Ryan, Shoko said thanks for the compliment on the california rolls and thanks for showing me some new chords to work on.

I did end up with a guitar stand that doesn't belong to me... I noticed my bass was sitting in it after cleaning up. Let me know who it belongs to and I'll mail it out.

To the rest of you that didn't make it ... hope you make the next one!
( SteveS .... The next one... at your house? )

Thanks to Dennis and Shoko! It was great, though I wasn't able to stay as long as I would have liked. Definitely fun to finally put faces with names.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics.

And that massage was awesome...

I'm sorry I didnt make it...

My wife picked me up at the airport at 5pm and I opened the back of my Montero to put my luggage in and Oh... Where is my guitar!!! "Oh I'm sorry honey, I was in a hurry and forgot to put it in the truck."

Well needless to say it would have been about 7pm before I got to the gathering and I was pretty tired from my flight.

Sorry I missed meeting everyone and I hope there is another one sometime this year.

Later...

Dennis and Shoko,
You are an amazing couple. The gathering was a great success and both of you (and your family) really went out of your way to make every person there feel right at home. As a non-guitar player - I think I had just as much fun as the musicians. It was so much fun to meet a lot of new forum members and their non-playing partners at this gathering. Thank you for absolutely everything!
Russ and I need to have a Get Together at our home now. Can we Russ?

That would be mine. Actually I left two of them there. Don't worry about sending them to me though, I needed an excuse to go to the music store anyay ;) .

Thanks for a great time!!!

(now to do an online search for hammer dulcimer  )

Ken, check out my website at www.cpmusic.com (http://www.cpmusic.com). I've got some info there, along with links to other sites. The dulcimer player in Bakersfield I told you about is Brenda Hunter, and her site is at brendahunter.bizland.com/ (http://brendahunter.bizland.com/).

I wish I could have come and met you all, both new and not new, I mean new and used, I mean new and old friends.......;)

I'm glad you all had a great time, and I just have to make the next one. How will I be able to stay in touch with Steve314 otherwise?

Hey Ken, when you go to the music store to buy some new stands, check out the Hercules. I have slowly replaced all my old stands with these. They are great, IMO!

I almost made it to this happening...I had planned to be there but my plans were not meant to be...I really enjoyed the last SoCal event in San Diego that Killer58 hosted...That was first class. So I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new players at Dennis's event. I want to thank Dennis and his family for hosting this jam. Even though I couldn't be there I can feel and appreciate the energy and good time that I missed.
Pic's...where are they?....Next time I hope I can be there...keep practicing and playing everyone and we'll meet again!!

Hard drive attention syndrome?

Anyway, I look forward to the next one, too. I'll try not to have the stomach flu then.
