Wade:
Any update on the 615 shipment?
I still plan to be at Wildwood Saturday, the 11th. anyone else able to make it? I'd like to tell Marty about how many folks will descend on her place.
Thanks - rodger

Well, yes! They were late getting it out, which, with the upcoming holiday would mean it wouldn't be there. But Marty called them and they are shipping 3-day, so even if it doesn't leave the factory until Tuesday, it should be there. I was planning on calling today, actually.
I have to say I'm both impressed and relieved. I have surgery on the 14th, so Wildwood getting it after this week would mean that I wouldn't get it until after my surgery, and I likely won't be playing for at least a week or two after.
This is what customer service is all about... both from Wildwood and from Taylor. They both have really gone the extra mile.
So yes, I'll be there, without question! Besides, I'm looking at getting another guitar while I'm there... of course.
Hope to see a bunch of people there!
Peace,
Wade

I think they have directions on their site... otherwise, use MapQuest... it's not too difficult to find. If you get lost, just stop anywhere nearby and ask for the directions to the Roscoe Village Visitor Center. Wildwood's parking lot is right there at the same entrance.
See you there!

I called Marty and Don (got their voice mail) and let them know I thought about 5 players and possibly some guests (I'm bringing one of my daughters - the guitar playing one) would descend upon them tomorrow.
See everybody there.
When does this thing end?

Dang it! I had to pass this time. I plan to get down there early in October when they change their hours to 12 to 6PM. I have a feeling I am going to need more than 5 hours to take it all in.
Rodger: you should post your pictures from the jam :D

I did not go, I've never been there but I live close.
Feedback:
I could be wrong but I got the sense that you guys all know each other, and this was not an neccissarily an open invitation. It struck me because there was some concern over alerting the owners as to how many were coming.

Sorry you got that impression. Wade, JJ and I had never met before last Saturday. It was open to anyone.
Since it is just Marty and Don to mind the store, I was afraid if we were having 20 people show up, it would be difficult for them to run their business and deal with us at the same time since Saturday is a normal business day for them. They had asked me for an estimate of attendees. Last year, we had about 10 people attend and they opened on a Sunday for us. With 5 or less, they felt comfortable having us show up on a business day.
This was a fairly informal event - we picked the day because Wade was picking up his custom 615 that day. I wouldn't mind having an informal Wildwood get together (or other similar location in Ohio, or maybe Michigan, PA, etc.) on a fairly routine basis - say every 3 months or so.
I hope to see you at the next one.

Thanks Roger.
I'm flying to NC soon for a "JAMboree" with some guitar players from another message board I've been at for about 3 years. So indeed I'm interested in these things. I'll keep my eyes open for the next one!
