Hi! Just got this gig TODAY--I apologize for not posting it sooner. I'm playing Fri. night, Sep. 3 at The Pumping Company, 6157 N. Broadway, Chicago, one set, 10 p.m. Come say hi (and yell Freebird---just kidding).
Sat. night I'll be at Borders Oak Park, Lake St. at Harlem Ave., 2 sets 8-10 pm. No tipping allowed, no cover, no minimum, so no pressure!
And Labor Day weekend is the annual Fox Valley Folk Festival, Sun-Mon 9/5-6, at Island Park in Geneva, IL. I'm emceeing the Chicago Songwriters' Collective Showcases from 11-noon both days, and performing in it Monday. Suggested donation at the fest entrance is ten bucks, but nobody is turned away. There are some awesome people playing both days, both local and national. (I especially recommend Cooper, Nelson, & Early featuring Celtic fingerstyle whiz and Taylor aficionado Phil Cooper). Stop by the CSC's table as well and shoot the breeze (and buy some members' CDs). There will be food and crafts, a rare records tent, instrument dealers, etc. The park is a little gem, on an island right in the middle of the Fox River in downtown Geneva. You can stroll, bike, and row as well as listen to and make music. Several open mics as well as spontaneous jamming throughout!
