One thing that all the air travelers might want to keep in mind, especially if you're bringing your geetar. The more connections you make, the higher risk to the toy!

So, I offer the trip to my wife as I don't think my friend in Colorado is going to make it. Not two hours later, I get an email from him saying his wife gave him the thumbs up!!! YAHOOO! As much as I love my wife (and contrary to previous posts, I really do!), she doesn't play a lick of guitar and would be supremely bored while we are doing Taylor stuff. So, this is actually great news for selfish me!
So look out San Diego -- Two forty year old fat men are coming to town looking for trouble!!!
Here's the gig. My friend - Name's Rob - is a top-notch barroom player. Knows all the classics, can jam with the best of 'em and has a great voice to boot. However, he's a bit intimidated as he doesn't own a Taylor. In fact, he actually just bought an Alvarez AJ-60 after twenty years of playing a Guild Jumbo (Sweet sounding guitar!). Since he's my best friend from high school (25+ years), my collective goals during this trip are to:
1. Get him really drunk, then take him over the border to Tijuana to have the Taylor logo tattooed on his heinie;
2. Get him to trade his Alvarez in on a 615ce;
3. Help him understand that it's more than a guitar -- It's a lifestyle!!
You all can help! Drop him a quick email (rob@wingjr.com) to let him know what a blast this is going to be! You can also tell him what a dork I am too, if you want. If he gets inundated with messages from everyone here, he'll either get really pumped for the trip or, well, kill me!!!:roll: :roll:
This is going to be great!!!!!

I'm gone for two days and look what happens! :lol:
I'm sure the hotel has some conference rooms but they're probably $$$. Someone should reserve a suite and we could have a jam there. Otherwise, Dink's room works fine for me! :D
BTW: Talked with Taylor yesterday. This is gonna be GREAT! Taylor is really rolling out the red carpet for us. Taylor is working on the agenda as we speak, more updates will follow.

Reservations locked in! Arrive 3:45p Thursday afternoon, and stumble back onto the plane late Sunday morning (1145a).
BTW, talked to the folks at the resort. Tower rooms are bigger than the pool rooms. Keep that in mind, Dink... :roll:

Hey Gutch
Make that 3 fat men, cause my wife is like yours....not into the guitar thing and would be board to death or spend all the money sight seeing..........so she is staying and Im coming alone.
This will be my first solo vacation in a very long time, and while I CANT jam with even the worst of them I will totally enjoy this gathering and all it has to offer.
Hey guys made reservations today for the hotel. I asked about the location of the room and they told me they weren't assigning locations until check-in time. Didn't some of you request tower rooms?
The only thing they would let me choose was smoking/non-smoking and number of beds.:confused:

J.R. I moved this to our new Taylorstock category since that made move sense now :). Hope you don't mind
