OK, we have been tossing around the Idea of a So.Cal gathering for the last few months. I have a nice size room that some of us have gathered in the past. I'm about 5 miles Southeast of the L.A. Airport near the 405/Hawthorne Blvd exit... I'm ready to do a BBQ and Play Day in Sept.... It will most likely be either the weekend of the 18/19th or 25/26th... one of those four days.
Also If Tbondo makes it out here from Florida in the next few weeks we will try to do a "come if you can make it night" with a last minute notice... Tom will let us know when that might work.....
Tell me what works for Sept!

Pick & Q, sounds great. Both of those weekends have their problems. Awaiting confirmation for 9/18 @ Serra Mesa Street Fair, 9/19 open. 9/25 is open, 9/26 gig @ Sea World. All that being said, 9/25 or 9/19 are good for me.
But, schedule what you must schedule and I will make it if I can.
I am in for "come if you can make it night", just let me know.
I am working on an AGF October Fest, I will let everyone know when I get closer to finalizing.

Either of those weekends work for me. There are a couple of potential things but I think I can work around them.
I probably also can make it to a last minute thing in the next few weeks.

Cool! we're hearing from the southern brothers.... ( thanks Killer and Marklyn)
All right LA pickers. What about all of you?
I'd like it to work out for a Sat for the "Pick & Q" as Russ called it so let's look at 9/25 as the first option and the 9/19 as the second option.
more discussion..... will 9/25 work as a first choice
or 9/19 as second choice?
All we need is for Tom to tell us when he will be here and we can figure out the short notice thing.

September 25th is cool for me. I'm gigging on September 17, and recouping from that on September 18. Generally speaking, I try to hang with just the family on Sundays.
Count me in as another meber of the "Southern Syndicate"...

Any of these dates work for me, although the weekend of the 19th is a bit better than the 25th. But whatever works best for everyone else is fine.

Yes....Ron. I haven't spoken to him in awhile. I must get in touch with him and try to 'drag' him, and maybe even his sweet wife, along.

Either date looks good at the moment, but plans do change sometimes. 25th is better than the 19th, but that's only 'cause I don't have to work early the next day... I'm in Downey, and the 4-5/hawthorne is close to my work.

So, is this actually IT? The 25th of September, two thousand four? I will mark it on my calendar immediately. Is this official?
I am happy to bring some songsheets for all. I have a copier too. Although, I have to warn everyone, that except for Scarborough Fair and House of the Rising Sun, my songs are either original or worship............;)

Rebecca write this in your calandar :)
Bring your sheets I'll play those songs with ya! We will have all day and can do songs of all types. I'd love to hear your originals.
Sandy, It will be great to have you even if your wrist won't allow you to play. You can still eat can't you? Fellowship and food with great music... something for everyone...
OK for the BBQ do we want Burgers or Carne Asada and Chicken to make burritos? I'm open to suggestions :D

A-Smith, plenty of people have shown up to these in the past and haven't played. You should be there, considering your status as a member of the AGF SoCal Syndicate.
September 25; got it. It's on the calendar here at the ranch, and it'll be on my calendar at work within the next two hours...

My vote is for the burrito fillings. I make great fresh salsa and can bring chips as well. Some guacamole, salad, and frijoles (and maybe margaritas.....Steve?), and esta muy bien! ;)

Rebecca, I prefer the burrito's also so since I'm cooking and you agree that burrito's are best that is enough for me.....:DOk folks, It will be carne asade and chicken burritos..... I look forward to the salsa!
"(and maybe margaritas.....Steve?) "
Tbondo...."Margaritas the size of the Salton Sea......he drank 1, I drank 3".....at least that's what the song will say...
I think Tom will be on restriction from the Margaritas....
Tom, I really hope that you can make it for the fiesta.... It would be great to see what you would look like with a better half ;)
If you make it 9/25 does that mean you won't make an earlier trip? If you did we were going to try to gather then also.
Russ, Thanks.... I'll give you a call and we can talk about plans. Oh, where is the Gene Autry Museum? I going to try to make it that day to see the Jugband.
To Everyone else .....we will, as the time gets closer, make some suggestions on what to bring if anything else is needed.
Russ we need a fiesta celebration post.... bring out the Mariachis!

It's near the L.A. Zoo, if you know where that is. Here's the museum's website; I haven't looked at it thoroughly, but I'm sure the address and directions are in there somewhere.
